Baseline Dyno Runs - 2004 996 GT3
Baseline Dyno Runs - 2004 996 GT3
I wanted to get a baseline for posterity, and just in case I do a mod or 2
Overall, I am happy with the numbers - especially on a Mustang Dyno.
Dyno pulls performed at Autoscope on Denton drive in Dallas. They have an awesome side-by-side Mustang Dyno setup, able to simulate 1/4 mile times. The shop is state of the art with 20 bays with underground lifts, underground alignment rack, meeting facilities, and free wi-fi. They have an awesome setup!
Mustang 4 Wheel Dyno
Stock 996 GT3 with BMC air filter @ 21,000 miles
Corrected HP values
Crank HP calculated using 10.0% drivetrain loss [just a guess]
NOTE: last run was in 4th, due to insane speed achieved in 5th. Those numbers are extra skewed.

wow those numbers are very impressive. the first one seems pretty close to stock. what mods did you add to the car?
Edit: ah it seems i look at the figures before i read what you have haha. it's good to see that other people have the 996 GT3 still. the only GT3s i see here are 997s.

I was told by a Porsche Tech that the 381hp stated by Porsche on these cars is a conservative number. He said all these motors are run at the factory and none go out with less than the advertised hp. Just repeating what I was told.
Thank you for your kind words.
A few weeks ago we had the PCA show up with over a dozen Porsche's, it was fun to see how they progressed from the early 70's 911 up to the late model 997TT and the numbers associated with each. Only car we were missing was a 993TT.
This past weekend we had a 2008 GT2!
I was thinking we need to start a wall of numbers, kinda like Top Gear has for lap times...
