996 GT3 Rollbar options?

Recently had a tire blowout followed by fairly high speed off track excursion. As stable as the GT3 is; I have never given much thought to being wrongside up if you will. Anyone have suggestions on a good Rollcage/bar that will actually offer support should the unthinkable happen? Thanks.

If you are tall and need to put the seat all the way back I would look at: DAS Sport, GMG, and RSS as they all allow for full travel of the seat.

I don't like the Porsche MS bar because it creaks like hell and doesn't let the seat go all the way back.

AP Design in the UK has a cool "fullcage" bar that you can get in and out of the car pretty easily.

Frankly, don't know. I've seen some TCD rollbars sold to others away from the Bay Area.

Thanks for the input. Height is an issue as I am a bit over 6'4" so I need the ability to put seat all the way back. A local shop has a leather wrapped Techuipment(sp?) that came out of a RUF that they will install for $1100. The bar just does not look that robust.

IMO, absolutely not if you're concern is safety. Tequipment pieces are nice looking, period. If the TCD unit can't be had/installed, or some other reputable custom install, from what I've seen, the DAS Sport would be my recommendation.

I am 6'4" as well the Porsche Techequipment bar will not work for you and it will only allow the seat to go back so far (maybe two clicks from furthest) not enough for tall guys. Pass.

Teq bar is better than nothing but far from best
I have always thought of it as a fancy harness bar

I am 6'3" -- if you go bolt in route you may want to request that the harness bar portion be raised up a bit to keep your harnesss at the proper angle over your shoulders... bar too low and you end up compressing yourself when you tighten your shoulder straps... I know DAS can do this.

The GMG unit that goes to the shock towers looks decent -- although it was not avaialable when I was looking... I ended up going a custom one from my shop that could be built to the proper height and go to shock towers and allow for full travel adjustment of the seat.

Thanks again guys. DAS and GMG can both do one that has a higher bar position for harnesses. Both look to go in fairly easy.
