GT3 vs. C2S
GT3 vs. C2S
2010 C2S (discounted $10k) built your way or a 2010 GT3 @ MSRP, same scenario, would the disount sway you towards the C2S?
No boiler plate GT3 is a track car stuff, just car for car, dollar for dollar comparison. Doesn't matter how either car would be used, I just love hot, purposeful, sports cars.
For me the GT3 wins hands down from a sports car perspective, but the disparity in price has grown to a level where it should be considered.

A C2S is a great car, a GT3 is an awesome car. People that buy GT3's don't say gee I should have bought a Carrera, where as many C2S owners (including myself) want a GT3. I would buy the GT3 without a doubt.
GT3 hands down (for me). If I'm ever in a position where I'd consider a C2S over a GT3 for a few kilobucks, then I'm just not that hungry for a car like a GT3 anymore. I'd have gotten soft in my old age.
Agree with everyone, GT3 all the way. It is the only car in the Porsche lineup that I said to myself I have to have in my garage.
Looking at how Allan and other friends enjoying their 6GT3 and 7GT3, I know it is a car that we will never get bored of.
I predict that Ed with get his GT3 within one year.

I built out a loaded C4S the other day and it came out more than a 2010 GT3. At the end of the day emotion dictates this type of purchase and my heart always goes towards the GT3.

GT3 is a great track car that you can still drive daily.
IMO if you never plan to track the car... just buy the C2S...
If you plan to track... buy the GT3
I bought the C2S and started tracking... now with all the money I spent on my C2S I could have bought a GT3.....
My car now handles better than a GT3.... but no matter what i do to mod it.... its will never be a GT3....you buy the GT3 for the GT1 dry sump motor......
other than that... a C2S is more car than most of us will need or can handle..
In reality you are paying more $$ for the motor... everything else can be added or replaced.

I got 20 percent off -- stock to stock the gap is nearly 60K .
If I had no car and faced the decision which you ask .. I would try to buy the Gt3 but would hammer down every desired option and search for a discount . I refuse to pay MSRP --for any car --especially in this economy and seeing quite a few Gt3's visible on dealership website inventory.
Here's the kicker .. two out of three dealerships didn't even make an offer on my C2S in trade . That implies that they didn't want my car with 700 miles yet were ready to sell me theirs for sticker?
Think long and hard before buying the car .
your logic will not apply to a GT3RS, even in this economy.
The RS is a different car .
Had inventory not been as visible and if it was harder to get the Gt3 I might feel differently. If the C2S wasn't discounted as much I probably would not have bought one. In fact a lot of people did not buy them before the Porsche "moment" .
BTW --it is a little harder to get the Gt3 with certain desireable options ALL on the same car right off the lot. After looking at some of the launch C2S cars as well as some of the Gt3's and how they were optioned I wonder if some of thse cars were specd in Octoberfest.
Nonetheless --the Gt3 is the better car. Take price out of the equation --with the right Gt3 .. it's no contest .. the Gt3 wins.

? It's probably cheaper than modding the motor, brakes, and etc..
