Re: Ebay Auction for '07 Orange RS / WP0AC29987S792762

I am tracking '07/'08 RS's for sale on Ebay, Autotrader and Cars.com daily. And I just saw this new listing in Ebay for WP0AC29987S792762 that apparently was posted today. As you can see & read via the links below, there is something here that does not appear exactly 'Kosher'. I will let each of you reach your own conclusions as to what is going on here. But I thought it would be prudent to bring it to the attention of the Forum just in case one of you is considering this vehicle for purchase. z356

Ebay auction posted today:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...ht_4369wt_1167

Report from Max's gt3rs Registry. I remember seeing this car for months advertised by New Country Porsche in Greenwich, Connecticut. Their listing just disappeared a few weeks ago and I assumed it had been sold. Are these two cars the same vehicle (VIN # 2762)???

By the way, we all want to thanks Max Power for doing such a fine job in putting together this Registry. What a great source for anyone looking to buy an RS in the second hand market!

Ebay seller's Carfax. Note mileage history and cross-check against what he reports is the current mileage.

The Ebay seller has posted the following: "I have not personally inspected or photographed this vehicle. I am relying on the pictures and descriptions provided by the seller". That is something I can believe without any doubt!

Mystery solved. Ebay seller has just posted a correction after a Rennlist forum member (tcsracing 1) contacted him following reading a similar thread I had posted in that Forum.

"On Oct-27-09 at 18:25:30 PDT, seller added the following information:
I apologize - the VIN # was entered wrong. It should read: WP0CA29957S792671."

Here is the RS registry file on this RS:

Thanks for the heads up. This is one RS I will not touch without personally meet the seller, see the pink slip and check ID and of course inspect the car inside and out. What a .... let's say "big" stick for a shifter lol. Does not look right IMHO. Might as well get a GT3 cup car if you want to do this much mod to a RS - sequential shift and all

before ...

after ....

"Appears" to be a hell of a bargain for an individual who wants to buy a ready to track package. Lots of goodies included in that price. Seats/Fire system/Full cage.

Will be curious to see how this plays out and if there are any stories. Heck, unless it has frame damage/salvage title/flood damage, how bad could it be???

I hope somebody winds up with ready-to-play package at a great price.

Sayboy: How does this 'appears' to be a hell of a bargain if no one knows the reserve the seller has in mind?

The odd thing remains that the Ebay seller initially provided a link to the Carfax on RS #2762, which he obviously didn't read before he posted (if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt). In any case, he has now disabled that Carfax link but NOT YET provided a new Carfax link for #2671. Oversight or something else here at play? We will know soon enough. I don't have access to Carfax but others in these Forums probably do and might post. z356

Agreed, poor wording on my part.

How about: "Has the potential to be a hell of a bargain"

Freudian slip I suppose of wishful thinking on my part for a lucky buyer.

ronsusser.com is infamous around these parts
Guys,
I am the broker selling this car. I have a copy of the clean carfax report and I'll be happy to send it to any interested party. Please note that this is a no stories, showroom condition car. I'll be happy to discuss it with anyone at 630 567-0066.
Thanks,
Ron

All that work done to the car and it retains the balance of the factory warranty?
