Michelin Sport Cup vs. Pirelli Corsa System

My GT3 will be here VERY shortly. I have seen that the GT3's come with either of these tires. Seems very random as to which they put on.

I have had my heart set on the Michelins and will likely ask my dealer to do a swap for them if the Pirellis come on the car.

How do these tires compare?

TripleM is infamous around these parts
both are good tires for the car
Used both before and now still on PS CUP

But as a pkg, I prefer the CORSA for the following reasons :
1. More streetable
2. More durable
3. More controllable when pushed to the limit

Dislike , one and only : Price

Next, would love to try the new CORSA, TROFEO. Let's see how it fares vs the old one

Cheers

Stay tuned guys........I will be testing the new Trofeo tire from Pirelli in the coming months as they shipped their first Porsche spec (19") tire to our shop to mount on a Porsche we lent them for SEMA. The tire looks aggressive for the track but still streetable. I met with the Motorsports Mgr Worldwide at SEMA and they are anxious to get some feedback on the tire as we plan to test them on the new GT2/RS platform. I will also be testhing their new slick compound on 2 Porsche Cup cars (WC spec 997 GT3 Cup and new 997 GT2 cars) on Dec 4th at Willow and we look forward to those results as well.

There is no question that Pirelli is aggressively going after the market and GMG has become the official tuning partner for Pirelli........more to come!

Really depends on what he is looking for.

I am driving to the track and back, and use the same set of tires on the track. If its raining, I am not too sure I would be on the Hoosiers or even the PSCs

The Pirelli Corsa semi slicks are an awesome all rounder for my limited capabilities. Driving in the rain doesnt make me panic on the way home from the track....

We´re driving the Corsa on the road. For the GT3, it´s the best Tire next to the Rosso or the Pilot Sport N1.

On the track, we use the Toyo Proxes R888.

It´s much cheaper than the Pilot Sport Cup and in my opinion, it´s a little bit better.

The big dislike of the Pilot Sport Cup is the handling in the rain...

German greetings
