I think I can guess the answer to my own question, but does anyone know if the 2010 GT3 spoiler will fit a 2007 ? The new spoiler is supposed to provide better downforce and looks interesting, too. If the new one won't retrofit, does anyone know of a good aftermarket option to replace my tired and scuffed splitter?

gt3. mk1 front splitters can be replaced with cupcar splitters, gmg racing sells a nice (but $) splitter with undertray with much better front aero - there is at least also one other european "tuner" that sells a splitter extension for better front aero
My friends composites company just finished making a replica wing to fit on the 997.1
It fits perfectly and weighs less than the oem piece as its made from frp and carbon fiber.
If i did not have their GT3 RS wing already I would jump on this.
pm me for questions

OK
I just checked with Ric at Suncoast and he does not think the 2010 front splitter will fit 997.1 GT3/RS. The 2010 GT3 front splitter has more prominent central "lip" compare with 997.1 GT3 as shown below. Ric is going to order a 2010 front splitter for comparison ... stay tune
Now the question is who is going to take one for the team and try it out to see if it fits?

nobody needs to waste their money to buy one to "see" if it fits. I'm going to give you my expert opinion due to my amazing ocular modules I had installed at birth. It WILL NOT fit without modification. If you look at the 997.2 the angles where it meets the bumper are sharp and more squared off and straight across the center section, whereas the 997.1 is a bit more rounded. That being said, maybe someone will be able to modify it to work with a bit of cutting.
Just got the official word from Ric at Suncoast that the 997.2 front splitter will not fit the 997.1 front bumper as follow:
"I just tested the spoiler on the old GT3 bumper……….not even close! It definitely won’t fit, even with modifications. Looks like the corners are different, the swoop in the center is different, and the mounting tabs are double the size of the gen 1 mounting clips."
So there it is - all the information you need to "spoil" your spoiler envy

We were able to retrofit a OEM 997.1 GT3 wing to our 997.2 with just a few modifications. Physically it will fit, but will most likely require replacing the entire decklid. I don't see why the opposite wouldn't be true. We did 997.1 onto a 997.2, so 997.2 onto a 997.1 should theoretically work.
There are, of course, many aftermarket options for the 997.1 that are far less costly then replacing with an OEM part. Feel free to let me know if there's a specific wing you're looking for.
