Mike and k24madness

Thanks for the comments and particularly in agreeing that it can be done and that it works like a charm. The observations Mike are great and will pay attention to those bends. I have been considering the air cooled turbos but to be honest i have not water cooled this yet and I have had no failures yet and I have been using these turbos for quite a few years and not cooled them. What has your experience been in the past. We are using the factory ECU for management.

Respectfully

Its really the oil that is being protected by the water lines not so much the turbo. The new air cooled center center section would be a nice improvement on non ball bearing turbos that move a fair amount of oil volume through the bearings. On the ball bearing turbos I would still plumb the water lines.

We have run water cooled turbos without water on the streets and for drag with no ill effects actually.. Im not sure for long term use or warranty purposes if you dont use the water how it will end up.. The new AiR cooled ceramic BB Billet turbos are working great so far.. Good luck with the setup..

The only real downside to not running waterlines is the need to change the oil more often and reduced turbo life. Depending on the packaging I would eliminate them as well. On my 993 we ran oil through the cooling side with 2mm restrictor. If the air cooled versions were available at the time I would have done those instead.

K24 and Mike

Thanks for all your input. I am working at the moment on building some headers and running turbos pre cats and doing an after turbo cat and silencer system. This will enable the hp to go has high as you might want to build the motor for. Look for it soon!

Any performance or acceleration numbers on this yet? That might sell some people.

Also how much added weight?

Very Interesting indeed

Now are you planning for the 997.1 and 997.2 the 3.8?

I have the 3.8 and ready to have the TT on the road-map

We are doing the work necessary to mock up and test on 997. Yes our intention is to have it for both variants. We are putting the final touches on the GT3 996 and the standard 996. After that we are going to phase 2 with both models to do headers, cats and mufflers. The 996 system is almost identical to the 997 except for a difference in length on the exhaust pipe. We have 85 to 90 % on solidworks (3d drawing software) for it to be reproduced easy. You can also email me directly at ivan.imamotorsport@gmail.com

997 GT3 starting development soon

We have a donor car to prototype our twin turbo system on. The car should be delivered to us in the next week or so. We are looking foward to this as it should be a real cool set up. The 996 Gt3 is a beast, I can imagine what the 997 would be like.
We are doing a complete set up on 997 from headers, to cats, mufflers, etc.
We will keep you posted on results. 996 dyno results next week.
