NA vs turbo

pwr2lbs

You are certainly entitled to your opinion but why is it sacrilegious. The response of the car is just awesome. I got bored with the power of the car and it certainly is easier to get more power with turbos that with more displacement, there is a limit to how big it can get.

Gnathologist

335 was of an 09 RS that was dynoed before yours, did not try yours since i had some numbers to use as a baseline. Realisticallyin my opinion it should be in the 350 range at 15% loss.

I wanted to stop by and toss up a post regarding my ride in the 996GT3TT. I'm shocked to say the least, the power throughout the curve is very similar to that of a 996TT with 16/16Gs. Benefit is the GT3 being a bit lighter and better twisty platform and it showed as Ivan pushed the car around some turns to give me a good feel of how it reacts under boost.

Ivan is close to completing a 997GT3TT and I’m very interested in knowing how and what the 997 will deliver now.

Great guy and he takes the time to explain things and sure does know his stuff.

Thumbs up Thanks

Almo

Thanks for the nice words and review on the turbo package for the GT3. The 997 will be done next week if all goes well. I will keep you posted.

first drive

After first drive and a few revisions on map the 997 GT3 Twin turbo is ready for an endurance test to analyze performance parameters. With the new turbos that we are using the boost comes in by 3000. All 6 psi are in by 3. Much better than a conventional turbo like the GT30's on my 996. Just a quick run on dyno showed the 997 making 300 ft-lbs by 3200 while it took my car another 1500 rev's to reach 300 ft-lbs. The power delivery is so smooth and linear that if you did not know you could not tell that it was turbo charged. Other than the acceleration which is awesome.

Some more tuning and data logging and will post results soon. Stay tuned.

Cheers
