Just bought a 2010 GT3
Hey Guys,
i searched and searched for an everyday car from the E63, Panamera Turbo, Nissan GTR, S65, Porsche GT2 etc and finally took all of your advice and decided on the GT3 to replace my 997 Turbo with really loud brake noises from the Ceramic brakes. The Irony of it all is that i got the GT3 with the same brakes
I can say that it is more comfortable than my Turbo...the Sports seats are comfortable and have the perfect support. I am still getting use to the power compared to my turbo and love the high revving engine to compensate the difference. I think it complements my Ferrari Scuderia very well
The clutch is perfect and the gearshift precise. There still is a lot of body roll compared to the Scud but a little better than the turbo.
Someone told me the GT3 is very tail happy and since i have only had it now for two days, I am scared entering corners as the car also feels very light at the front end but i am sure i will learn to tackle that.
i also had a few questions
1. i have the Pireli Corsa tires and the dealership says it is as good as the Michelin PS2 for everyday use and good for the track too. Should i keep them or get the PS2's . I Track the car maybe 3 times a year
2. I first thing i saw when i opened the bonnet was it only had one air vent and i thought it needed more. So i was thinking of getting the Fabspeed High Performance Air intake system which gives 14bhp.
will this make it louder ? and is it worth the uprade.
3.i love the sound of the car but after looking at the Sharkwerks video i am thinking of getting the bypass exhaust. Could that be ok for everyday driving? I think the current sound is amazing but the video just makes the sound soo much deeper...
4. And, when i use the sport button, the noise increases after 3000 rpm vs the normal mode where the sound increases after 4000rpm. Is there a way i can have the full sound as soon as i press the sport button
There are two track events back to back for the scud and porsche and i cant wait to enjoy them
I will post pics as soon I can.

Congrats on the new car!
As for the tires, the Pirelli's will be pretty good at the track. They are basically the Pirelli alternative to the PS2. If you plan on doing track events, I'd just leave the Pirelli's for now, since you'll need to replace them after a few events anyway.
As for the sound, you can't go wrong with the bypass! The sound is phenomenal and makes it louder instantly once you're in Sport mode. Please let me know if you need any help sourcing these parts. Happy to help...

Mabrouk on the new GT3! You will love this car and forget the Turbo very quickly!
Where are you going to track the car? The Pirellis are not as good as the PS2s on the track, that is for sure. You might want to get Sport Cups on it, as they are much better than Pirellis and PS2s. The only drawback is that they do not last very long. I get about 10,000 km on mine on the roads in this part of the world, with only 4 or 5 track days every year.
Sharkwerks bypass is the way to go!
Hope to see you on the road or on the track! There is a track day on Friday at the Autodrome in Dubai + a track evening at Yas Marina with Porsche Club UAE on the 12th. In case you are around...

btw how do compare this to your scuderia?i know its easy to trough the scuderia in a corner cuz of the weight distribution but how is the power delivery?is it more linear unlike the gt3 which really starts to go after 4000-4500 rpm?

CorsicanBB,
i tried to register for the event on the 12th in AbuDhabi, but they said it was booked. I am coming on the track on the 11th with my scuderia and was really hoping for a super fun event as i could drive both my cars on the track. The scud is coming on a truck and i have to drive another car down anyways. Look out for me on the 26th of march....red GT3...no plate 666 Oman...hehe

fun2k,
Thanks for not making me feel like a fool. I will definately get used to it in the corners> As you said, i think its all the hype we hear about how dangerous and tail happy this car is that we have to understand its potential by ourselves
About the Scuderia, It is a very different car compared to the porsches and GT3. I feel the porsche is better on a daily basis...i even thought my turbo was as fast as the Scud. The GT3 is not as fast or feels as fast as the Scud. The Scud is also very wide at the fornt so i am scared to hitting the curb sometimes. The Porsche is like a small toy and can do everything...just love it
Also i didnt like hearing the ferrari sound start after 3000 rpm so i removed the valves and now its sounds amazing
Dont get me wrong the porsche sounds lovely and so did my previous fabspeed bypass in my turbo. I love all the sounds as they all are very different and give me a great high. i dont remember listening to the radio in any of them as i love hearing the roar of the engine

I answered: " I honestly don't know "
Mabrook. Enjoy your car.
I forgot to mention one thing.
I was surprised to see body roll in the GT3 as compared to the scud. The Scud has absolutely no body roll.
But the sport seats on the GT3 are absolutely amazing better than anything i have ever sat in. It gives soo much back support that i now never feel any pain in my back. Who said the Turbo is more comfortable????
