Brake noise PCCB vs. Steel

I'm curious on feedback regarding brake noise ( on the street ) between the two different rotors. I had standard brakes on my old 997.1 GT3....made a LOT of noise coming to a stop on the street....no noise driving at speed.
I'm possibly looking at a .1 RS with PCCB.

Thanks everyone

... and yes.... I know the car belongs on the track.

I have pccb's they are absolutely amazing. I never heard a squeal or squeak. I might of heard a "wine" like sound a couple of times but this makes me smile when I hear it cuz its so suddle shows its sport character...

It depends more on which pads you put on it. With the OEM Porsche pads, PCCB are very quiet but with more track oriented pads (Pagid Yellow or PMNA Green) they can make more noise AND they won't stop you at the next stop if they are cold.

Teddy, I have a 2010 GT3 with steel brakes, they're really loud on the street. Sooo loud I have to laugh at people's reactions. On the track or under hard braking they are quiet! It doesn't bother me at all.

My first 997 GT3.1 had the standard iron brakes, and my current 997G GT3.1 has PCCBs with OEM pads. Night and day difference in terms of squealing and squeaking driving on the street. I prefer the PCCBs, but not worth the premium just to have squeak-free stops at traffic intersections.

If you plan to track your car and you use the OEM pads for PCCB, they will be cooked pretty quickly. You should switch to more noisy Green PMNA pads for the track. Just trying to avoid you a bad surprise that I learned from experience

i dont have first hand experience with pccb but
stock steel rotors + stock pads = noisy like freight train even after several track use.
stock steel rotors + rs29 = noisy at first then got quiet after track use. i kid u not. ymmv
girodisc + rs29 = quiet. really. ymmv

i dont even bother putting the stock pads back on anymore. i just leave rs29 pads on. just dont go rushing to a stop sign when brakes are cold 'cos u will not be able to stop for the neighbors cat crossing the street.
