996 GT3 -PPI Results
Have to agree with that, every PPI we do for any car gets a compression and leakdown test, and on a car that has been heavily tracked it is a necessity.
I'm no expert, but according to Jerry Woods a compression test is worthwhile while a leak down isn't. I had my car PPI'd there in April.
I think you have that reversed. Leak Down=yes Compression Test=no
Peter
Our PPI is $800, we go through and check everything on the car, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, alignment check, compression and leakdown test, transmission systems, all fluids and their conditions, but that price is our standard on a Ferrari PPI, so for a Porsche I am sure we would charge less. And we provide a list of all the values that we find, faults in the car and anything else the car needs to be properly operational.

A leakdown test should only be done if the compression test is not ok, if you have a good compression test then there is no reason to do a leakdown. Leakdown test is good to find out why your compression is not ok if it were found to be below specs.
Yeah for you!
Awesome on the purchase, fotostars! It'll take me some getting used to associating the Miata with you but I'll give it a try on Sept. 6th. Looks like I might join the Salerno Motorsports guys for that event at Laguna.
Hope all is well!
