997.2 TT Needs A Friend . . . 997.2 GT3 RS?

First post, so a big hello to everyone!

I just took delivery of my 997.2 TT (Manual Transmission) recently (my first Porsche - finally!!! - after dreaming about one for many many years) and love it! It's my weekend car and very occasional daily driver. One of my reasons for the TT are the back seats which come in handy for the kids. Another is the more comfortable ride for the wife. However, I am very tempted by the 997.2 GT3 RS. If I do get one, it will be in addition to the TT and again used as a weekend - but this time, me only - car. It will not be tracked.

Anyone else have both a 997.2 TT and 997.2 GT3 RS? Are they different enough to justify having both for weekend non-track drives?

Thanks!

I just came out of a 997.1 TT that had the Bilstein PSS10, H&R swaybars, GT# RS wheels and a Softronics flash and bought a new 997.2 GT3. The mods on the TT greatly improved it's overall look and performance. It was extremely quick because the flash provided additional boost, but the GT3 is a very different, and in my view, better car in many subtle and not so subtle ways. I could never find an exhaust for the Turbo that worked for me, every one I demo'ed had terrible resonance at cruising RPM and ultimately that lead me to switching to the GT3. The sound and the handling, especially the steering with the 2 wheel drive, is significantly better and I don't find the ride to be harsh - it's a Porsche after all. The GT3 RS is just another step along that path, but for me the GT3 is a better looking car (mine is all black like your Turbo) and isn't completely over the top. Everyone has their own opinion on looks, but the GT3 fits my expectations perfectly. I use it as a daily driver, which includes 300 mile roundtrips once a week to another facility.

Thanks for your reply. Great move switching from the 997.1 TT to the 997.2 GT3. And in my favorite color - black!

Hope you're not talking about me.

Congrats to OP for 2 great Porsches, but there is not a lot of roads in HK to appreciate them.

GT3RS-HK, really? Yeah, it was probably me. AW, GT3 RS / Cayenne Turbo would be my dream combo! Targa Tim, definitely no roads to even use 10% of these cars' capabilities here!!!
