Anyone in Japan?
Does anyone have photos of a Japanese market 2010+ GT3 or GT3 RS? I'm trying to figure out some options. Please post em' if have them, thanks.

Sure, I noticed a rear wheel well arch in our catalog, and we're trying to find an answer. So looking for exterior shots if possible.
Another question to the Japan-savvy - Notice on the passenger floor, a red thing. Any ideas?
Any thoughts?

It looks like most Japanese market cars come with this item as standard equipment. I checked our parts catalog, and they seem to be called a warning light holder?? Here are photos, all of these cars seem to come with:

You bring up a great point about the radio. I'm not sure, but it seems that Porsche of Japan must install their own radios. They're not PCM's.
If you look on our website, you'll notice that we offer a factory PCM removal kit. It's special brackets for double-DIN radios, and it's from the Japanese market only. We have sold many of these kits to customers who want to install aftermarket radios.

japan's cellphone network and gps are kinda "strange" compared to the states or europe.
for example a lot of their cellphones don't even use sim cards.
i think this makes pcm somewhat useless in japan.
this is my guess on why they don't use pcm, instead of spending $ on designing and developing japan market only pcm.

that makes sense, thanks for the feedback. On another note, we're working on the additional wheel arch trims for the RS, this could be an interesting find. I'll post more info when it becomes available.

little red thing is a flare. comes standard with any jap car. incase of a break down on the highway.
Yeah, it's actually illegal to not have it in your car in Japan. However, cops don't randomly pull people over here like they do in the US. You really have to be doing something wrong to get pulled over here.
Oh, and the reason that they install their own stereo receivers here is because just about every semi modern car (from about 1997 up) has navigation in it. But something about the way they make the navigation systems here is different, so most dealers contract out one of the major brands to do their navigation units. I can't imagine anyone here having a Porsche without navi, just because it's so normal here, especially in more upscale cars.
Side note: Porsches in Japan are TERRIBLY expensive right now due to the poor exchange rate. You would be lucky to find a 997.1 Carrera (standard C2) for less than $80,000, and that's for a 2005.
For example, here's a GT3RS for about $280,000 US dollars.

MSRP is about what.....$160k in the US? Wanna make some money? Buy a brand new GT3RS, spend the $10-12k or so to get it fully legal in Japan, and then mark it up to a bargain $230k. Easy money.
