Im going crazy, what are my options? Cant stand brakes.

My brakes squeek to hell. It worse then ever, it sounds like metal grinding. Pads have life, car has about 4500 miles. I go every few days warm them up and do several 120 to 30mph stop and it clears the sound for maybe a whole day, if that. Its just unbearable now. I need to figure something out. What are my options?

Different brake pads w/ reduced performance? Maybe something off a carrera?

This is my only car.

I am assuming that you have stock brakes, and not a Pagid Yellow, but it shouldn't be a repeating problem. Take it to the dealer if it is a huge problem.

brake noise

I'll take the car off your hands "as is" no questions asked. After one day I'll have your problem licked.

Solution 1: Don't use the brakes
Solution 2: Use the brakes firmly and change those stock pads.

I do track the car, and when im not i go on very hard drives often where the brakes are used hard...i wish it was that.

that only clears them for a day. hard stops are fine, its in traffic or slowing to a stop sign that its so ****ing loud!

I have the same issue on my '10 GT3 with 5000 miles and stock, steel brakes with plenty of life left. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard - two 380mm fingernails and two 350mm fingernails, that is.

seriously mines squealed so loud it nearly took out starbucks guy's hearing when i order coffee from drive-thru. that was before i switched pads from stock to RS29. i couldn't believe it. it's quite. i then switch front rotors to girodisc. still quite. i'm now on the 2nd set of RS29 pads. still quite. it only starts to squeal again after it accumulates brake dust after a few weeks but still not nearly as loud as before with the stock setup. after wash, it's quite again.

Steel

They really all do this. It's like a metal on metal sound. You can try brake quiet paste from pep boys, titanium shims which I use with some success, and changing front pads to something else like RS19 or RS29. When I used the Giro Disc I did not have as much noise.

The stupid thing is when i purchased this car, I specifically searched for steel brakes because I heard many people from with turbo's and .1 GT3's saying that the ceramic brakes squeal and that the stainless steel brakes do not. Grrrrr....now on the .2 GT3 I havent heard anyone say their ceramics squeal since they came out with the new ones.

damn I keep reading of those people who have quiet rs29 pads on. mine screech like hell knows what. stock setup never made any noices, but after most recent pads swap even stock started to squeel a bit, but way less than rs29.
I just do not get it, what is the reason of this, how can it be quiet on some cars and screech on mine all the time.

My brakes were the same way with Pagid Yellows. Once they were warm, they were so loud (more annoying than loud) it used to drive me crazy! Now I've got PFC 01's on the car with the Stoptechs, not even a sound...
