Do you gets get smoke from the exhaust on start up??

bumperpip is infamous around these parts
boxer engine=horizontal cylinders=very minor amount of "liquids" pooling=little smoke

you forgot the most important part to finish it off "= embarassment when your $120k car does it yet the neighbour's $3k hyundai doesn't" ... lol

Pretty normal though...

add in the squealing freight train brakes and its even worse

996GT3 never has....997.2 GT3 always does on startup when not driven for a few days ....rarely does the 901 even when not driven for weeks

My father inlaw says it looks like a old GM-671 on start up. Sucks when you finish a detailing and take around the block to dry the brake pads (yellow pagids) and get the soot on the rear bumper and deck lid. It still makes me smile knowing whats under the bonnett.

My car does it everyonce in a while - funny thing I have to ask is this:
Does anyone ever get this god aweful smell in their garage from the exhaust fumes? Sometimes when my car does smoke on start up the fumes smell almost like a dead animal......must be unburnt gas or something.....hopefully not a dead rat in my exhaust

Yeah, I have the SW 3.9, I think at 8800 RPM on the loop that the intake sucks up animals and small children! Smell it all the time!

'08 GT-3 Never smokes, even after lengthy times in garage...nit brake noise either (PCCB's)

My 6GT3 doesn't smoke. My TT did, quite a bit.

I would say 7 out of 10 times it is blowing out a big blue cloud of smoke..
