Shipping seats

Hey guys,

I just picked up a set of 996 GT3 seats for my .2 GT3. I sold my OEM seats that came in the car, but I have a question for those of you that have sold seats in the past. What did you use to package the seats and what was the cheapest you paid for ground shipping? I really don't have any idea how to package these things and can't see it being cheap to ship. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I would probably take them to the UPS store and have them package it up for you.

I shipped some GT3 seats a few months ago. The base needs to be very sturdy. I had a some special cardboard sheets that were a few inches thick. Then wrap the seats in bubble wrap and tape the seats to the bases. Then box them up with more bubble wrap and peanuts.

Shipping will cost you about $200-300 for both.

$300 will probably get you the packaging and shipping.... $200 shipping only and that is freight, assuming you get a good deal.

2x24' boxes taped together and bubble wrap did the trick for stock seats so it'll work for anything

I just got a freight shipping quote for GT2 sport buckets from NY to CA for ~$450.00 incld insurance. I found freight to be much less expensive then conventional shipping.

I sold a set. Buyer used Greyhound. He paid $207 for shipping and $1000 insurance (Max). That was for both seats, TN to CT. Took a week, no tracking available. I boxed them up on mini pallets Porsche uses, bubble wrap and cardboard.
