RSS XPIPE for GT3
RSS XPIPE for GT3
Has anyone installed the black rss xpipe for their gt3? I am torn between Sharkwerks, GMG, and the xpipe. I have heard in person both the Sharkwerks and GMG. They all appear to be excellent quality. I cannot denote much difference in sound via youtube videos. Also, one of the companies admitted to losing some low end power with all 3 systems. I welcome any opinions. I think they can all be had for a comparable price.
I have the RSS X-Pipe installed on my 08 RS with the solenoid unplugged. I am very happy with it - sounds great with no drone and seems very well made. I liked the "all in one" nature of the X-Pipe compared with the Sharkwerks by-pass with bolt on tips. That was really my main criteria for going the X-Pipe route.
Also very happy with the customer service from Bryan at RSS.

RSS customer service is top notch
I do not think you can go wrong with any of the options -- I have SW one that I purchased used for half price...
They all look to be good quality etc.
go with your gut -- you cannot make a bad decision

Ive never seen anything bad about either product. I have the sharkwerks piece and solid product, and they offer great customer service. I hear the same about RSS as well.
They are all just a bit different.
RSS uses a crossover design and has built in tips
Sharkwerks uses "straight pipe" design and has interchangeable tips

RSS XPipe on my 2010 GT3 sounds like a howling Tie Fighter or cup car.
It is not piercing or overly resonant.
I love it. Never liked loud cars before. More into the stealth thing - not flashy. But, oh boy, this changed my expectations. Some psychophysiological basis may exist for the 'intoxicating' nature of exotic engine roars - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne...ses-women.html

I think the tip size on the RSS and GMG are just slightly bigger than OEM....The sharkwerks larger tips really fill up the exhaust hole area much nicer and this was one of the reasons I went with Sharkwerks. The other was Alex is top notch for customer service and thirdly he ceramic coated the bypass for me as I wanted a black bypass. And then finally the price was right and the sound is intoxicating! But all of them will be better than oem sound.....

I just completed a 1,200 mile trip from SC to KY(go cats) thru the mountains of NC. Let me tell you driving back from KY as the sun came up and the fog lifted as I entered knoxville on I40 thru the mountains towards Asheville and the tunnel for you East coast guys(I had to open my windows @ 37 degrees) to hear the scream of the GT3 with the xpipe was an amazing experience. Being an early Sunday morning and minimal traffic I enjoyed miles of "track" and 7,000 rpm's. She is officially broken in.
I run Sharkwerks, unplugged on a 2008 GT3. Sounds like a beast and I am regularly asked what I did to it to make it sound so good. I was also choosing between Sharkwerks and RSS. Can't go wrong either way, but I am very pleased with the results and service.

All finished/ready with another batch
