Question Will .2 C2S rear seats work in a .1 GT3?

Please don't flame. This is the only way my wife will let me get a GT3. I use the rear seats in my C2S all the time with my 2 kids and would have to put them in the GT3. I have found a set of .2 seats, but am not sure if anyone knows if they will fit.

Off topic, but does anyone know if the .2 GT3 has factory rear seatbelt holes like the .1 GT3 does? I know the .2 GT3 noes NOT have the rear upper seat bracket, but I was wondering if it has the holes.

Thanks,
Chris

You might want to look at insurance issues with adding rear seats in a car that is insured as a two seater. Its most likely possible but the insurance was brought up last time this was asked and its probably worth looking up.

Thanks, I will call them tomorrow. I will probably do the seats either way if it is possible. I have insured a few custom cars and I would hope that if completed to factory standards they would insure it.

They would most likely not fit as snugly as you may want them to...but they should fit

So are you saying the .2 rear seats are smaller then the .1 rear seats? Does anyone have some clarification on this?

Here is one item I refered to several days ago; it is a 997.1 w/ bottoms and belts. Everything is there except the side brackets for the seat backs.

despite many speculations

Are the .2 rear seats the same size as the .1? Can anyone confirm?

I am going to put out a guess here, because I havent been to porsche this week and looked at all this stuff in the parts catalogue.
From my experience with 996, I found that all 996 interior parts are the same , size, configuration, but only the part # will change going up every year. The reason is that all the chassis/frames are the same thing. All are the same, carrera, carrera s, carrera 4s, turbo, gt2, gt3.
Wide body, narrow body, all have the same interior chassis / frame. The difference is the body. The guarter panels may be narrow or wide, but the interior size are the same. BECAUSE I found out all the carpets are the same. The seats interchange on the same tracks. SO that means the interior demensions are the same. The quarter panels, door panels, dash, etc. The styles and shapes may vary from model to model, year to year. But they all bolt up the the same spots on the inner frame.
So Im going to guess when I go search thru the parts dept Im going to find out the 997s are all the same frame / chassis too.
If I look at the yellow gt3 I linked to, I find this 07 gt3 has the same bolt points, and same internal brackets, that I find in my 09 carrera.
So, I am going to assume that the same story is true for 997s and 996s. All the years have the same chassis/ frame. Thus, all the same interior sizes and parts.
The exception is that since the gt has no option for rear seats, there was no need to weld in the seat back support bracket. So they save the weight and omit one unnecessary part. All the holes and other contact points for the belts were drilled because it started as the same frame. They just plugged them.
I have a feeling that the rear 996 seats may be the same as the 997 also. They look the same to me and all the parts look exactly the same. I will give an example; the center hump aluminium support that attaches to the seat rod, has a part # 996.

PS. all the 997 seats are going to be the same thing too. It will be easy to find out from the dealers parts dept.
