Looking at an 07 GT3

Looking at an 07 GT3 (actually 2 of them). One is a garage queen with low-low miles and the other is set up for the track with quite a bit more miles (less $$$) and track time. Thoughts on things to look out for with both of these cars?

The party line is to get a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) performed by a reputable 3rd party. In the DFW area, RUF (rufautocentre) is probably the overwelming favorite. You could also have one of the local dealers look at it. Park Place Porsche and Boardwalk Porsche are also in the area.

I had the same choice with a 996 and elected the queen. I have since modified it for the track just the way I want and I know the people that did the work. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I am thinking the garage queen may be the way to go. I will definitely get the PPI just cover those bases.

I had another question on this subject. What thoughts does anyone have on color? I am looking at white and Midnight Blue, but I favor the white. Is resale a problem on cars that have a not-so-common color?

Both of these cars have decent resale colors - The white seem to be the most prevalent is this the queen?

The garage queen is Midnight Blue. The garage queen is very low miles with low options - 70% of sticker is as low as he will go. The white one has more options, but 4K more miles - it has PCCB with a PPI and DME already done presale for 66% of sticker, but more $ in absolute terms. I am still trying to decide!

If you 'know' you're going to do a lot of HPDEs, pick one that already has seats that can accept six-point harnesses. I ended up spending serious money for replacement seats and now have two conventional seats sitting unused in the garage.

There a sweet red GT3 at stevinson in denver and an oranhe rs. I just bought a 07 GT3 RS with 4k miles and absoutely love it. On issue to me with the blue car is paintwork. Track time will get u some rock dust and other debris scratches and dark colors show flaws more and kill resale. Y 2 cents.

The range for these '07 cars seems to vary considerably. I have been offered a 20,000 mile car for $82k; an 8,000 mile car for $84k; and another 20,000 mile car with track mods for $95k. Granted these are all White cars, which was my first color choice, and were all private party transactions.

I am going to pull the trigger on an extremely low mile (less than 10,000 miles), 1 owner, moderately optioned car tomorrow for $74k. It's msrp was >$125k and the owner added nearly $10k of solid aftermarket items that I would have put on anyway (lwfw, Shark Werks by-pass, entire front end 3M protection, plus a few other items). Can't wait!!!

I am holding off on making the purchase. Looks like I need to let these cook a bit until I can get a better price. Looks like Canine64 got an excellent deal. Plus a black one has come in the picture, so now I have three that I am interested in. Thanks for all of the advice - I still like white the best with PCCB.
