I'm not going to lie...if this is true, I'd probably take one over a GT2 RS and pocket a small chunk of change.
Not a huge fan of that bright red in the interior, though. Otherwise...WOW.

Wanna guess who is getting one in Dallas?
That is AMAZING. I am not often one to get jealous, but your past, present and future stables of 911 GT's are just jaw-dropping. I'm up in Dallas all the time and I hope our paths cross sometime.
Will you be going to the factory to help turn the wrench on the GT3 RS 4.0 like your GT2 RS?
Maybe when you're getting on deck to get the next-gen GT2 and GT3 RS's, you can send a gently used 997 deal my way. Any idea what the asking price on the new GT3 RS 4.0 is going to be?
Enjoy the cars in good health!

Been told the base is $185k. Plus options. Full specs come out late tomorrow or Thursday.
This car will boil the track. I'm disappointed it only comes in 1 color. I want a custom car.

There are plenty of guys that will be more than willing to put a full wrap on it for you which I'm sure is a good thing for the track anyways.
Call me a sucker, but I would love to see one of these in the traditional Gulf Oil livery...yah, I'm a sucker.
Can't wait to hear more about your build and see some pics when it finally comes this way.

PDK is absolutely a superior tool if you are driving for pure lap times. But for me, I am not a pro but just enjoy the sensation of carving up a track when I can. Under those circumstances, I'm willing to give up a few seconds if I'm afforded the driver involvement of a manual transmission. For me it's more about the feeling I have going through the curves and straights as opposed to the number on the paper I am handed at the finish line. Heck, it may be sacrilege, but I would be interested to see a gated shifter (a la Ferrari, Lamborghini and Audi manuals) in the ****pit of a 911 one day. May look completely off, but there is something beautiful about the mechanical clicks of a gated shifter on those other cars. Maybe it can be the "911 GT3 Italian Wannabe Limited Edition."
After owning a 997TT and subsequently driving a 997GT3 (non-RS) with less HP, I'm pretty certain that I would be more than happy sacrificing some HP from the turbos for the connected feeling from GT3 and my next 911 purchase will likely reflect that.
Again, to each their own. For all of those who complain about Porsche's seemingly limitless permutation machine, the sheer abundance of different 911 versions and editions almost ensures that there is something for everyone!
You sure the dealership can't dig up an extra-hidden "Porsche Exclusive" option for you to check to get the color scheme? It may end up costing 10% of the final build price, but you would, IMHO, probably have one of the MOST desirable cars out there...
