The only thing about the 'weight reduction' comment is that it has been dis-proven, at least from the point of view of the hubs. I suppose there is still the possibility that the wheels could offset that.

They definitely look great though. It just sucks knowing I cannot easily remove a wheel in my own garage and am at the mercy of getting the car to a shop with specialized equipment to deal with it (I don't live near any of those shops either).

you're probably right. i seem to remember reading somewhere that the total system (wheel/hub) reduced X lbs per corner. Anyway... they DO look cool though.

Although I haven't done it myself, I'd say torquing anything to 350 lb/ft is going to be pretty tough at home. I've seen pictures of people doing this with some very long bars, and you do get the actual 'wrench' included with your car. Just need a lot of leverage!

They aren't that hard to remove. Compared to 5 lug the process is more complicated and less forgiving if you happen to make a mistake but once you get the tools and learn the steps it's not hard.

^ i have three sets of CL hubs.
you need the nubbins too (some re-use them, i would get new ones. but i will incldue them so you can decide)
you also need the CL nut, which i dont have
you need wheel bearing as well.

but for $600, my CL hub and the center pin thingie will save you a lot of money.

pm if interest, price is firm.

I converted my 997.2 GT3 from CL to 5-lug for dedicated track use. I have the complete system available, hubs with less than 2,000 miles on them, two (2) sets of wheel nuts, the full set of nubs, and a set a nearly new 19" OZ centerlock wheels. I have photos I can send; if interested, please send an email address.
