Cool 4.0 RS or 430 Scuderia?

Decided to go for the upgrade from a 3.8 RS to RS 4.0(Can't resist the hype having got one at msrp.) But realize that for the same exact $$ there are 430 scuds around with virtually drive off miles. Which one would you go for and why?

I'd go for the RS, if I were in your lucky position. The reason is that it'll be faster, more reliable, and I'm pretty sure it'll have better residuals due to its lower production numbers. It's of course not as exotic looking, which matter to a lot of people. The RS has more of a 'nerdy' appeal to it.

The Scud is pretty much the most amazing car I've ever driven. Its almost effortless on the track. And just as or more exotic than the 4.0

I have a 458 and was thinking of getting a Scud, but my dealer told me after the 458, I would never like the Scud. I also have a friend who has both and says the same thing, so I guess my choice would be the 4.0.

i was told by nigel mansells sons who race f1 cars that the scud is the closest road going vechicle to an f1 car.. that means a lot!

the scud is the winner in this comparison!

Why not wait to drive one before deciding? The reviews for the RS4.0 are nothing but superlatives. In AutoCar, I believe they ranked the GT3 RS higher than 458. So I am sure the RS4.0 is quite special.

RS. The Scud is not as special, won't hold it's value, is not as user friendly for the occasional drive around town. The RS is a rare piece, is something I suspect you could hold on to forever (vs. the Scud - which will be superseded by a 458 Scud) and will be worthy of superlatives for a long long time.

they need to get Ferrari and Porsche to make a car, so we can have looks with reasonable maintenance costs

I will just keep the 3.8RS. I suspect that most people is unable to drive this car at its full potential.
