i have PM'd you.

our editor has informed me there's no market for our proposed new book: Speed bump strategies for the Cayenne Turbo, as even at Mc D's, it's just not a life threatening issue

the F stradale proved quite bulletproof, hitting rocks and truck retreads like a porsche. lacked in understatement somewhat though.
Watt,

When and why did you get rid of the CS?

Not to be a hp hog, but in the previous iteration the GT3 has 375/380 hp vs. the Corvette Z06's 405 hp. In the new upcoming models the Z06 will have 500 hp vs the new GT3's 408 hp ? Anybody notice a widening disparity ? Unless they drop about 300 lbs. off the car (which won't happen), is the GT3 relegated to comparisons to a C6 Corvette with the Z51 suspension package.

The carrera S is more than a match for the C6 vette, it is just slightly slower in a straight line and far more satisfying overall while being rated lower on power. I think the new GT3 will keep pace with an f430 and be slightly slower than the z06 in a straight line but the turbo will be the car to get if you want z06 matching straight line power.

What happened to the Mazzer? Oh how I lust after a black one with a camel interior.... Quick zip me up before i start to drible.
40 days out of service in 5 months with electrical.... Lucas still lives. whilst i think they cured it after $15k, the customer, my wife, no longer had faith in the car, so we had M "take it back".

she loved its looks, but altho' i expected the CT to not be a well accepted replacement, she loved it on first drive!!!!

Sounds like that was timely...just before the $14,000 charge to have the timing rubber band changed. I hear the 430 will have an actual timing chain, much to the dismay of future service revenue projections...

Let's hope that is true. I just can't see how the GT3 with 408 hp will run up against the 483 hp F430, though it would be mightily impressive if it did. It used to be that the TT & GT3 were on par with the Z06 across the board, now it looks like it will be somewhere between the Carrera S/Corvette, then the GT3, then on the top end the TT/Z06. Although I am sure the new GT3 will be a beast on the track.

Ok, so the 360CS was supposed to have 425hp and the GT3RS 381hp? Both cars were nearly identical in a straight line, give or take a 10th, the P car giving away 44HP or just over 10% to the 3 legged Donkey.

New car is "reported" to have 408hp against the 483 Italian Ponies 75HP differance or jus tover 15%.

Now, bearing in mind that my meagre 381HP beetle put out 402.5hp on the dyno and most of the other P cars I know of hover around the 400HP mark it would seem that Stuttgart Horses are rather larger than Ferraris Donkeys.

Now alowing for the extra 5% you get free when you get a P car that would make the new GT3 more like 430 and all of a sudden that Donkey is not so far away...

Apologise for spelling and I hope it makes sense, long day and a nice bottle of red in!

P.

weight of my stradale" 100 # over the weight in book

speed in stradale: 80 mph in CS = 75 in P car
and HP overstated as well.

Italians are BIG you know... big on BS, but the CS still has spirit

true, and even though the GT3 will be "considerably" lighter than the 430, the 997TT will be a better comparison given their relative weights and the "drive yourself" characteristics from the granny trannied, e-diff'd 430 i rode ***** out around the track in recently. it's a great car (oh boy did that leather smell nice!), but the 997GT3 will probably deal just fine with it on the track and the 997TT should do just fine as well.

ps. i think the US stradales were nearly 150 lbs over the weight in the book. dynos came in at 329 RWHP which is rather suspect for a RW car "claiming" to have 425. but, at least you get to spend 2X the price for CS ceramic brakes replacement as on the GT3 and send your fcar service people's kids to college. think of it as charity.
