4.0 GT3 RS Available One Black One White
There is a red GT3 on their lot with bunch of aftermarket. Salesperson was confident to say the chip tuning, exhaust would be under warranty since it was installed at a Porsche dealer in California. I am a little confused if it is true or not? They are asking $129k
Porsche Center of SA has VERY good technicians and service writers. The issue is the sales department. When the 997.1 RS came out they sold one of the customer order to another customer who paid more. The original owner raised his voice and got another car shipped directly from Porsche NA. They did the same thing to another customer when 997.2 GT3 RS were announced. This time they sold a customer allocation to a dealer in Houston with mark up. They drove a few customers away from Cayman Rs by asking ridiculous mark ups.
They feed off the medical society in San Antonio, because a lot of physicians do not have a lot of time searching regardless they are enthusiasts or not. Porsche center SA only cares about a dollar they make off of you. Sales staff in general lacks most basic information and misinform customers about cars. They are in line with the ownership, in other words a true reflection of them. They will blatantly tell you a GT3 is chipped and is under warranty. They always go through sales staff and management. They always lacked inventory, now they have a bunch of used/consignment GT cars and they are banking on finding less than educated consumers to jump on them, so they can make a quick buck or two. GT2 RS in their inventory belongs to a customer who originally bought it from them. Very sadly, it shadows the honest and knowledgeable service department.
Their new location is also far from where a Porsche dealership should be.
TX is a big State, we have dealerships who do honest business in Houston, Dallas and Austin.

We can come off that price, we will work with you .....that was the response, but they wanted me to offer something. I told them no thanks.....dont usually negotiate against myself. First rule of sales.
QUOTE=ksbenz;3391785]So what was their response to you, and did they then lower the price to you?

if i am asked to offer a price, my response is always 50% off their cost.
if they dont like my offer, DONT ask me.
i never ask my customers to make me an offer.
Dealers in the Bay Area have been asking as much as $15K-$20K over MSRP for a BMW 1M! Friend of mine can't find one anywhere for MSRP. I'd be curious as to what they're getting for 4.0s. A lot of silly money here.
I bought my 996 over the phone and called 3 dealers telling them I'd make a decision that day, wouldn't play dealers off each other to save a few dimes, and just asked for their one-shot best price. One dealer told me they would take $1K off MSRP max - no way they would do anything better. I got a better offer elsewhere and bought. The first dealer called me back later and said they suddenly had room to move and would price match. Too late. Of course when I showed up at the place I bought the car in an old Nissan Maxima wearing an old T-shirt and jeans, I walked around the showroom for over 30 minutes and every single person there ignored me. When someone finally asked what I was doing there and I told them I was picking up the car I bought suddenly everyone was super nice. That's why I hate buying cars from most dealers.

to get some help at dealership, get in the car, start shifting the shift lever like you are at monoco GP. the noises will bring you help pronto. if they are rude, rude back. if you are embarrassed to do that, take your kids, let their hands rub all over the paint, the fingerprints will get you help. it works like a charm. i am a major headache to anyone who is not my friend

max, 2.5 YO. i chase after him, max, dont pee in the car dont pee in the car you dont have diaper on ... you would not believe how fast the sales guys come to help.
most of my cloths are soiled with 0W40.

Dealers are douchbags. I hate people who act like that about money. If they dont see money falling out of your pockets they dont want to be bothered talking to you. I know all about it.
My money is in my pockets not ON my pocket. I wear ghetto clothes all the time, It's amazing how that changes peoples demenor agenst you. I find I get bad looks and no service when just 24hours ago I came in wearing a suit and everyone wanted hugs. People are so shallow its sick. Somedays I just dont feel like wearing anything more than a hoodie and jeans. Does that make me a different person or anything less than a guy in a suit? No, It probubley means I have more in my pocket because I didnt waist it all on my attire.
Im not all for making peoples lives hell but Ive had to come back in a tux to get service and I sure made that service manigers day a living hell.
as for 15K above MSRP, total bs. Im sorry that's not right
I like to see what cars people have or have gone through...whether they're Porsche guys, Ferrari guys, Lambo, Vette...or even GT3ers, Turbo, Cab or whatever...it tells me more about their perspective.
^^good for you...that's great...your buddy "chuck" made a sly remark to which I replied...there's a lot of fish in the pond....lot's....
I'm sure you guys have had em all and are a good source for information.
Always wondered if dealers here in Silicon Valley are any different considering any 25 year old in a hoodie and jeans could potentially be wealthy enough to buy a $200k car. You just don't know. I'm a little older now so not as good a test. The last time I bought (just an Audi though) the dealer was attentive and helpful but still wonder if I'd be ignored at the local Ferrari dealership.
+1
Yep, only the dealer can warranty that, the SA dealer is either uninformed or deceitful, you decide which.
