I'M BACK....and ready for a GT3 or GT3RS this year! I need some help...
Hello, Merry Xmas!
Some might remember me as Adam@_____________ a couple of years ago and I also had the pleasure of helping out a neat Paint and Body company that bleeds Porsche, otherwise I've missed my P-car discussions.
I currently have a C6 Z06 Track car, it does make some GT3's cry, driver factoring comment there, lol
. My local track crew consists of a Gen IV Viper, Z06's and some GT3's. For the amount of beating done to these vehicles, the GT3 really stands out from the bunch when it comes to longevity.
I've been playing with my buddies 2007 White GT3 for about 2 years now and I'm going to get my Z06 a brother this year but the main question is.......
2007-2009 GT3 OR 2007-2008 GT3 RS????
Here's a video at MSR 1.3 with the GT3 on Bridgestones
I have a strong connection in the car industry, I do understand I can turn a plain GT3 into a RS+more.
Should I just shut up and get the RS? Once I learned it had the wider fenders, I was pretty set on the RS. I do have a Carrera 4S 997 in the family and thought of stealing its fenders, but that's not a good idea,
.
So, GT3 or GT3RS? I'm forecasting 2 dings this year on the 997's as the 991 and 2012 year flop come...

Damn, what a nice video. I enjoyed it almost as much as you did by the sounds of it. Good driving and looks like a nice enjoyable day at the track. Was that GOPRO? I just got mine, cant wait to try it out in 2012. As for the RS>gt3 debate. They are the same car for the most part. I am sure others will chime in and have much more to add to the discussion. My two cents or 1 &1/2 cents
Rs is nice with the lights flywheel and wider fenders. Amung other things, I would love to have them but I got the gt3 for now and from what im told im not missing much having gone with gt3 over the RS. Its really the same car. Just a few extras. If your going to get the car and throw mods all over it then you may aswell go the RS route. I may end up doing the same before long. Rs is a bunch of nice colours and so on. For the most part your getting the goods just going with the gt3, plus you'll be saving a substantial amount compaired to the RS. Some say tho, If you get the gt3 you may be wishing you got the RS, but if you get the rs you wont be wishing you got the gt3. so to ease your mind you may just skip the ~ what will i be missing out on questions and go for the gusto off the get go. hohoho ya know. ALL RANDOMENESS to consider. Good luck. I hope I was of some help to your decission.

There is no 2009 GT3 so it's either between a 07-08 GT3 or an 07-08 RS. In those shoes I would get a 10 GT3 instead of an 07-08 RS Unless your looking at the fact that the RS' are more rare. The mk2 have the extra torque so if it's just a track car then that's the way to go. If I had to pick a mk1 I would just get a regular 3 and then spend the difference on mods to make it more "track ready" can't deny how pretty the .1 RS colors are though
Nice video. I would get the .1 3 and save the cash for mods and track expenses. If budget is no issue then go RS!

Well... I'm now leaning towards the 2010 997.2 GT3. I do plan on adding mods... I'm seeing 2010 GT3's from 130s-90s... It will be interesting to see what happens to the value in the next 6 months.
indeed i agree but without a new gt3 coming for few years many may not be selling. it seems the best value at the moment is gt3.1 or .1 RS with all honesty

amazing car, but i would think for 117K you can almost get in a RS.

If money is no object...get '10RS. If not, '10 GT3. I have an '11 GT3 and just drove an '11 RS back to back and the difference is minimal. That being said, next time I'm getting the RS!
