I made a mistake !
So today I revisited the GT-3 idea by driving a 2010 with low miles and options. Boy, big mistake ! Now I think I really want one again and am somewhat sorry I didn't pull the trigger on a new one back in early October. Anyway, keep me in mind for any 2010-11 GT-3 (no RS) in blue, black, gray or silver. Wish list includes PCCB, axle-lift and NAV but nothing's a 100% deal-breaker. I looked at all the cars on cars.com and sent a few inquiries out. I still can't get over how responsice the steering was as we were doing 80+ on the interstate. I'm sure there's some room for improvement as a track car hence RS and Cup, etc. but could you possibly need a better-handling car on the street ?
Anyone in the Washington State area that can go do a visual on a car for me that's at Park Place in Bellevue? If so, please e-mail to drjimm5@aol.com ASAP & thanks!
You have ben infected with the disease! Congratulations on the decision. I think it's a good one. I know you were looking at Cayman Rs and other options, but a .2 GT3 is a great choice!
I made the mistake a few years ago, and started a thread about it back then.
I know own one, never left my mind at how awesome it was!

Cayman R was nice enough but it's no GT-3. I drove the earlier 997 GT3 and found them excellent but just because the .2 exists I had to try that. Now I'm convinced if I can find the right one, then I'll own one...
OK, no helpers for WA state but how about Tulsa, OK ? There's one at the P-dealer there I'm also interested in but want a visual before negotiations can get serious...
From reading all the posts in this forum, i decided to buy a 2010 gt3 rs today. Being shipped out this weekend. I have never driven the car, and have never seen one on the street. I can't wait for the car to arrive. I have never purchased a car without ever driving it or at least sitting inside a similiar one. I hope my wife finds the bucket seats comfortable.
Hummm, I notice in signatures that there don't seem to be any former GT2 owners here.. tee hee. I'm not saying it is BETTER, but I am not saying it isn't either. I AM saying it is one heckuva lot more challenging [some of us prefer that to pure performance] if you enjoy wringing it out. THO I also would agree that the GT3/RS is more pure FUN ... .and I don't know if it is possible to quantify how much that delicious noise it makes might make it more desirable. I agree they are very sweet.
Last ..comment.. question..thought?? I keep reading the 991 with a few options is FASTER around the North Ring. It seems everything new has to be better/faster, etc.. and I wonder if real world this will prove true? Even if it turns out to be true, I somehow can't imagine all of you wanting out of your GT3/RS cars for a regular 991 3.8. Yet, it poses questions. [Now guys, I am not just trying to liven things up here. I am somewhat serious especially with this last question. Honest. I suspect that even if it proved the new cars are faster, etc there would remain the desire for the 3/RS cars... Just like a few guys I know prefer the 6-3 for it's sweet spot over the later 7-3s.] We need to appreciate these time and enjoy them. I remember in the mid 70s when it looked like the bottom of performance cars had dropped out and was gone forever. The greenies want to see us and these cars disappear. Things WILL change and who knows in what direction.
Meanwhile, ENJOY

The Black gray color with red decals. The car just looks sooo nice. I had a turbo before and it just doesn't have the look that this car has. Besides a turbo is too comfy to be a weekend car.
I had my eye on two that were sold right away. There are many whites for sale but i really wanted that color.
