Just wondering what they were. Can anyone big and tall drive them? How is the interior space? Headroom with roof? Any information would be great. Thanks.

interior space is nonexistent. it is one of the smallest ****pits I've been in. makes my lambo murcielago feel big inside and a 911 feel like a taxi cab. closest thing would be a lotus elise/exige with a higher center console

tall person - maybe. I'm 5'11" 175lbs and it fits well but with zero room to spare. I'm guessing 6'1" would be the max. there is maybe 3" from the top of my head to the roof. If I was taller I would still fit but I would be looking at the visor and would have to duck down or tilt my head to get a good view out of the windshield. I could also move the seat back maybe 2 inches more but I like a fairly close pedal feel. If I didnt my seat would be all the way back.

big person - probably not a chance. the non adjustable race type seats are tight and I think I have the american fat man version. getting in and out requires folding your legs up quite a bit.

Oh well looks like the Carrera GT is out of the question for me then. Thanks for the input, oh and BTW I find the regular 911 a bit small on the inside. Even the Corvette C6. I have yet to have been inside of a LP640 or LP670. Looking forward to it though when I can find one for sale near me. Hopefully even an Aventador. How does the Gallardo compare?

I have not been in the drivers seat of a gallardo but my murcielago was fairly tight. a little more space than a CGT but actually less leg room. I needed the seat all the way back and my knees would still hurt if I drove it for more than an hour or so. I think the italians design for people with longer arms than legs! it also had non adjustable bucket seats (a little more angled back than the verticle type with bolsters in the CGT). not sure about the 640 or later seat options. again - my 996 style 911s were much bigger inside.

my 430 had quite a bit of room. my 6'6" friend was able to fit in the drivers seat (with all the adjustments) and be in a relatively comfortable driving position.

Oh I see, I fit good in a Ferrari 360 haven't been in a F430 yet but I imagine it should be about the same. Haven't been in a 996 but I've been in a 997 and I wasn't really sure what to think honestly. It was a Carrera. Not any special or Turbo models. Maybe the Turbo is different? I don't really need super comfortable or luxury seats I just want a seat I can fit in. I was wondering of the Carrera GT was similar to the regular Carrera in terms of interior volume, but I guess it's not by these claims. I don't fit in Miatas, Honda S2000s or the Lotus Elise or Exige unfortunately. I'm using these vehicles as comparison due to interior volume and sports car segment not a price or quality comparison. I love Lamborghinis though, they look amazing. I just don't know if I would fit in one that's the question. It's not exactly easy to find people who have them and the nearest dealership is about 80 miles away. Hard to make time to drive 80 miles one way to sit in one at a dealership I guess. If I drive that far I want to test drive it but they usually don't like people test driving exotics I assume.

The Gallardo is a clown car compared to a Carrera GT, and frankly, the LP640 really isn't in the same league either. The Carrera GT has an all carbon monocoque chassis with double wishbone suspension and a carbon body. This is the closest thing to a race car you will find. The Murci is a rolling brick compared to this and has some very dated engineering. Also my father is 6'1" and fit very comfortably in the CGT. Whoever says its uncomfortably small has not driven a purpose built race car. Plus I am of the belief that one should fit very snugly in a car with that type of performance. I have a lot of seat time in both the gallardo and CGT so if you have any questions just PM me.

Well if I purchased a Gallardo it would most likely be the Balboni or a Spyder with the 6 speed manual option. Kind of hard to find out if I will fit in a Carrera GT they're rare and hard to find and if I purchased one it would have to be shipped here from far away distances. So it would kind of be like taking a gamble on how I would fit.

Like I said I have a fair amount of seat time in both a Gallardo coupe and CGT and I found the Gallardo ****pit to be more snug. I can't see someone over 6' being able to fit. With that being said they are 2 very different types of cars. I am actually a big fan of the Gallardo. Its a very drivable car; I took it on multiple road trips. The Carrera GT on the other hand is definitely not a daily driver. Its is extremely low to the ground and has terrible visibility. It would be a tiring car to drive on the regular, but when it comes to performance its breathtaking. The Gallardo on the other hand didn't really feel that much faster than my M5.

well if you are ever on the northern side of atlanta I'll let you crawl around in my CGT and see if it fits. I use it as a daily driver so I dont need much notice

I see you're in NYC (partially). Why not check out Manhattan Motors to see if you fit in the CGT. I believe they still have one in the showroom.

Thanks guys, maybe. I know Manhattan Motors and a few other exotic dealerships in the area but I never been to them really. I kind of feel uncomfortable in places like that. Just something about feeling like I need to meet a certain "Quota" to even be able to qualify or justify owning or even looking at cars like these. But yes I am sometimes in NYC and have family and connections there. I will be covering the 2012 Autoshow at the Javits center as well in April, so maybe I can try to plan something to stop by the dealership. Do you think that if I went there they would pressure me or would I need to make an appointment before I went there? Sometimes I'm extremely busy and it's hard to predict when I will be available to have some time to do things of personal interest that's why I ask. What are the "Requirements" to view or test drive a vehicle there? Are they strict with their policies? I'm also a bit nervous to drive a vehicle like this around Manhattan as well. The streets are terrible and the traffic is even worse.

Manhattan Motorcars now has the same owner as Pcar of Huntington(thats good news).. There are a couple exotic dealers over on the Long Island mate.. The logical idea would be to forget the 7 year old cgt and possibly into a .2rs or TTs; everyday super cars- At some point you will realize even a Lambo is a little too much painful to drive as often as the 911..

Yes, I believe they are in the ISLIP or Hampton area. Those are for the extremely wealthy. Billionaires and such. They definitely don't want outsiders in that area. I might try to check out some exotic dealerships in the Philly area or maybe the one in Edison. They have quite a ample supply of Ferrari 458 Italias. But you see, that's the thing. I want something that's different than the rest that not everyone else has. That's why if I purchased a Gallardo I'd go with one of the special editions. I also really like the Audi R8, it's just that it's extremely popular for a supercar and it seems like every rich Guro in the tri-state has one. I hear really good things about the Aventador in terms of driver/passenger comfort so I'm hoping to find one of those locally to see for myself. The reason why I like the Porsche is because it's the greatest car they've ever made. It's not like any 911 out there and ALOT of 911s are on the road. Did you mean the 997.2 TTS? Or was you talking about the Audi TT? The new Porsche 911 GT2 really looks amazing as well. But then again it's just another 911. I'm also on the double edge about the rear engine placement. I hear that it's very difficult to control at speeds. I believe there are more 911 deaths than any other supercar. But I better watch what I say, I am in the Porsche section. Oh yea and another note is that the Carrera GT will be a very good investment because it appears the value keeps going up on that car. That's what really brought it to my attention. Also the fact that it's unique and it's the greatest Porsche has ever produced. Another plus to consider one, A Lamborghini or Ferrari will lose it's value over the upcoming years. Just look at the Ferrari 360 and Lamborghini Diablo. Even the Ferrari 550, early year Gallardos. All of those have terrible resale value so it's kind of like throwing away money. I'm not sure how well regular 911s hold their value but I know the 993s especially the air cooled versions really hold their value over time.

I'm 5'11" at 165lbs and the CGT fits me like a glove. It's not spacious and I never have the roof on so I can't say how much headroom I have. I know that anyone above 185lbs is gonna fit really tight in those seats though. I have some room to put my seat back still so I'd agree that 6'1" could fit comfortably but above that, it would start to get a bit tight. I'm gonna guess that you'd still fit at 6'3" but perhaps not so comfortably.

Of course, you could always drive with the roof off.
