will this jack work in the event of a flat tire on my open trailex trailer? would like one jack to use to change wheels at the track and be able to use in the event of a flat on the trailer.

This is what you need. i keep one in my trailer all the time and they are cheap and EASY. The you can get a real lightweight, low profile aluminum jack for the car.

thanks Doc, that is very cool and should do the trick. I thought the OTC would have been ok as my low profile jack for the car - any thoughts? Or, for even less $ your basic Craftsman low profile. The Craftsman only weighs about 25lbs. Not sure how good it is, but it's not like ill be using it everyday.

I've had the Craftsman lightweight aluminum, low profile for 5 years with ZERO issues! It is a great unit for the money.

They work great!

Last time we came back from the track my buddy had a blow out and called me, as I was behind him a few minutes. He pulled into a rest stop and had the trailer already up on the ramp and the spare tire ready. I jumped out with my cordless impact and we had the tire changed like a Nascar pit crew! The people watching at the rest stop were amazed!!! It was pretty funny

Check out the Harbor Freight version as well. Might not be as 'robust' as the Craftsman but it just might do the job at a much lower cost.
