996 GT3 will not rev above 2k rpms

996 GT3 will not rev above 2k rpms

It stalls if you add gas and makes an incredible amount of noise. It has 29k miles. I pulled the MAF sensor and sprayed it with no success. Likely a fuel pump issue or torn fuel pump hose. I will report back when I know more.

no check engine lights? sounds like it is running in limp mode...not likely a fuel issue...more likely an intake issue or crank position issue

i had similar issue.
it was due to some wiring short circuited and burnt out the ecu.
i hope your issue was not as dramatic.

there is always the possibility that a mouse has been dining on your wiring

Ahhh, good point, but garaged and no visible droppings.

I'd check for the split fuel hose in the tank. Many reports of failures with similar symptoms

Split hose on the fuel pump assembly. +1
Sounds crazy, but it happened to me.
