Questions re GT3 brakes on Cayman

I just bought an '06 Cayman S w/ "GT3 front brakes." I have the part nos. but they vary a bit from what I've found doing a Google search. I just need to know what they are for pads, etc. The nos. are as follows:
Calipers - 996 351 431 [and 432] 91
Rotors - 996 351 409 [and 410] 9H

FWIW also replaced were: lines, master cylinder, carriers, wheel bearings, shims, sensors, bolts.

Lastly, can you guys recommend some pads for DE and DD use? It apparently now has OEM GT3 pads (996 351 948 00) and I will use those up first. Or should I swap street and track pads even if I don't swap rotors?

Thanks for your help.

Try either PFC-08 or Endless ME20's. Good dual purpose pads that have plenty of bite and no fade.

Pagid Yellow's for the track, sounds like they are 996 calipers, so you should be able to use the same pads.

Pagid 19s or 29s?
From what I've read online lot's of drivers have switched to the PFCs and think they are superior. I may go w/ them regardless simply because they don't have to be bedded in.

Pagid RS29's, they are based on the 19's, but have a little more initial bite.

PFC's are popular, but I haven't tried them, I use what is recommended to me by people that support Daytona cars at the track. All the top finishers run Pagid

Also, bedding in takes a few hard brakes on your warm up laps, and you are good to go.

Your rotor part number matches with 996 GT2 (without PCCB) and GT3. I don't have a listing for that caliper number, but 996 351 431 (and 432) 90 is for 996 GT3, and 996 351 431 (and 432) 31 is for 996 GT3 with PCCB.

We have a few options available.

The EBC YellowStuff or Hawk HT-10 should be a great track pad for you.

pagid 19's are great for track/daily use. Just be aware with any of these track pads you will have a ton of squeaking under normal use... none at the track though

The newer Hawk DTC-60 and DTC-70s are great! I'm using the DTC-60s since I use my car on the weekends/occasional street use and they have no problems at all with initial bite, ect.

I used them at Roebling road on my turbo and coming into turn 1 at 155mph and slowing in time was no problem with these pads.

I did my first DE in this car this past weekend and I have to say that I was disappointed in the braking power. Several times I got into the ABS and it was not pleasant. I have OEM Pagids, they are yellow but certainly not Pagid Yellows - does anyone know about where on the Pagid racing continuum these pads would fall? I.e. anything would be better?

OEM pads will glaze, ABS problems could be related to your tires.

I run Pagid 19 or 29's and Hoosier R6's and hardly ever get the ABS going, and that was on my C2S as well.

You could have upset the brake bias. I know if I put Turbo or GT3 rear calipers on my 997S the brake bias is off and the ABS turns on prematurely. I can put front calipers from the Turbo or GT3 though...

GT3 brakes are on front, tires are like new PS2 front PSS rear. Yea, adding more brake on rear is apt to upset things a bit, front should be OK. But what I'm thinking is that if I have more braking power from the pads then I won't have to stand on them as long. I've had suggestions here for Pagid 19 or 29, PFC 08, Hawk DTC-60 or 70 or HT-10; I may just let price be the deciding factor. Any of these should be a good improvement.

But what about swapping track and st. pads on same rotors - OK?

I take it that you replaced the MC with the correct larger bore gt3 unit ? (25 or even 27 mm?)
