GT3 with Fabspeed Muffler Bypass
could be a bit agressive for some...but just fine for me!

Bypass pipe
Chuck,
Sounds quite nice to me. I'm considering them myself. Did you do the install? Any issues with OBD2 or CEL's? I know they really rip at WOT. How did you like them at high rpm's? Were they too loud?

Thanks Flyin and Khalid...still have some testing to do before I give them the final verdict...at wot they are very loud...quiet at cruise at 3k rpm in 5th or 6th...they seem to be the loudest below 3k rpm...not for everyone I'm sure...
Nelson...I did the install myself...very easy...have to remove the rear tire to get the muffler assembly out (3x13mm nuts on rear of muffler bracket then muffler and tip come out as one piece...don't have to take out the heat shields in case you decide to put the mufflers back on...took less than an hour...no cel or cat issues....seems not as loud at high rpm (maybe because the pitch is much higher).
RiverFlyer...the only thing between the headers and the tips are the cats...the mufflers come out (lose about 40-50 pds) and new tips connect directly to output of cats

Chuck, thanks for the explanation. GREAT sound btw.
I had straight pipes on my 355 before I sold it and though I loved the sound, the exhaust fumes were bothersome for the first 20 minutes or so until the car was really hot. I assume with cats thats not a problem. Its hard to tell from a short clip, but it seems pretty loud. Is it an issue for driving in and out of the neighborhood? Do you have any other clips, maybe a driveby?
Thanks, John

John, don't have any other clips of my car yet but Fabspeed has a great video on their website...

Bypass pipe
I've heard that power gains are realized across the board on GT3's with the bypass. Does anyone have any before and after dyno evidence that this is not true or is it a SOTP sense that there's a dip in low rpm power? It would be nice to know the real deal. Obviously, the weight savings is real.
Chuck, thanks, great video. I loved the guys comment that " it is not too loud if you are careful with the throttle and you could live with the system all the time if you are gung ho!!"
So I guess you are gung ho my friend, anyway, great sound.
I would love to hear you car if you ever drive up the coast, I am in Mendocino. Drop me an email if you ever have that bad boy out for a coastal cruise. John

hp claims
Nelson, it would have to be on a dyno cuz you won't feel it (less than 5% increase)...the 14hp claimed by Fabspeed is with an air intake mod also...so bypass pipes only would be even less...the mod is mostly for the sound and loss of weight...if you want hp there are better exhaust mods (I know you have been talking to Neil), although they are way more expensive and some have cel and warranty issues...Alex is going to flash me soon...I'll let you know what that does...

That ROARING is sooo HOT!! Great choice
