Brake Upgrade for GT3RS

I have the steel brakes (350mm front) on my 2007 GT3RS, and if I wanted to upgrade to 380mm steel brakes in the front, would I have to replace the calipers? and is this a worthwhile upgrade?

Considering the RS brakes are already some of the best on the market I would wonder why, aside from aesthetics, you would see the need to upgrade.

That being said, I'd spend the money on suspension upgrades. But, to each their own.

I would agree, but I was just curious if the standard caliper would accomodate 380mm rotors.

Pccb equipped cars came with a 380mm front rotor and a different upright Which makeshift think it is not possible

However, if you wanted to go with the fully bad *** brembo gtr kit, it will only work with the .1rs steel brake uprights

I agree with the previous poster - stock brakes with the right pads and fluid are more than adequate... I would put the money into suspension or gearbox

Changing out some of the best brakes in the world would only serve to make you look like a guy with more money than brains. You might notice a slight improvement in braking from 160+ mph and using sticky racing tires. Like the guy from ING bank says so well: "SAVE YOUR MONEY"

with 380mm brake, 18" wheel is very very limited & expensive, i prefer to have the 350mm setup to keep cost down. I have the PCCB and they are not the best brake in terms of braking performance (friction). The only good thing is i never worry about change brake fluid, never fade.

^ +1 agree

finding track wheels to clear 380mm rotors in PITA unless you go with custom wheels.. wish mine come with steel as i don't track my pccb anyways

We have sold & installed the slotted rotor replacement from GiroDisc. The rotors have aluminum hats which reduces weight giving better performance from less rotational mass. Everyone has been happy with the better stopping power too. StopTech has them in development last time we checked awhile ago & might be available.

Drilled Rotors are for heat dissipation while slots helps slow down the rate of rotation. Another benefit of slotted rotors is they are a lot less likely to cracking & do not wear unevenly. The gap between the holes cools at different rates causing rings to form.
