Rear wing options for 997.2 GT3?

Gents,

What are my options as far as a rear wing goes for a 997.2 GT3? I actually really like the wing from the .1 GT3RS and I also like the wing from the .2 RS. Will either of these fit?

In addition, I also really like the front bumper from the 997.1 GT3 as well. Would that fit on a gen 2? Don't mean to turn the car into a Frankenstein, but curious as to what the options are...

Thanks in advance!

All possible. However, why not just buy a 997.1 and be done with it? It's not like the .2 is a night and day difference. I guess if you HAVE to have the dynamic engine mounts, and some of the updates from the .2, then go for it.

However, personally I would suggest using the money saved on suspension and other go fast bits that will more than allow for the factory model upgrades.

Just my 2 cents...

Thanks for the response, good to know it can all be done. Do the parts fit on without much hassle?

I test drove both a .1 and .2, and the .2 just felt more potent to me.

20k more potent?

The parts should fit on without much of a problem, just make sure you get the proper engine lid, as sometimes they differ on fitment. It's not a big problem though, as you can see by searching the forum, many members have done a RS style wing on the .1 and .2 GT3 and

This is exactly what I am doing in about 18 months...purchase the .1, go with a full exhaust system matched with a .2 RS decklid and wing from GMG...other mods to follow but initially this is the bulk of modifications I will have done soon after purchase. I can't wait!! Good luck with your search and decision.

Your opinion could not be any more inaccurate. So much misinformation out there....

The jump from .1 to .2 is probably the biggest leap in GT3 Performance. Do a quick search on rennlist.com and you will find out a plethora of info on the topic.

Some quick points to hit at:

- Massive improvement in mid range power.
- Aero downforce is huge over the .1. The 997.2's even have more downforce than the .1 RS.
- .2 comes with PSM and PASM (Much more refined than .1)

So to clarify, IMO a .2 GT3 > .1 GT3 and .1 RS (Purely from a performance standpoint. .1 RS is a classic and is definitely special) The difference between a .2 GT3 and a .2 GT3 RS is a much smaller gap.

+1 ...

Not to say suspension parts, up rights.
List goes on and on ... 997.2GT3 is a far better car, bargain for the price.

I am having a custom .1 RS wing made for my .1 GT3. I should have pics up in a few weeks. If all goes well, I will be able to recommend the manufacturer. It will be carbon top wing and scoops. All RS replicas are made for base or S 911's so the air intake is on the wrong side!
