Steering Wheel Question

Has anyone installed a steering wheel from a 997.2 in an 997.1 GT3? Will there be any error codes? Will the airbag work correctly if necessary? Thanks for your help.

Can't answer your question however, as another option you can have your 997.1 GT3 wheel recovered by Dallas Custom Steering Wheel. No affiliation but, very satisfied with what they did with mine.

My car is a 2005 and that steering wheel is a 2012. Airbag works fine, no codes, no weird things happening. My horn works correctly.
In some cases, you may need to also upgrade the steering wheel module and visit your dealer for activation in the event your horn doesn't work. I didn't need to do that...

Joels thread is excellent and should answer all you questions with the exception of how he got his horn to work without a new module

I think I had luck. no idea how or why it works as it should not... but, hey, it does! it's a great change and transform the look and feel of the car. I paid $300 for the steering shell and $800 for the new airbag. I sold the old steering wheel for $500!
