Front bumper fender wheel well extension
Front bumper fender wheel well extension
Can anyone help to direct me the link of front bumper/fender wheel well extension (Porsche motorsports part)? I have seen it on a thread talking about an inexpensive way of Aero upgrade.
Yes sir and thanks.
I remember i read a long thread before and a guy post out all the motorsport part#, can't find the link nor remember the key words? It started with inexpensive aero mod.

Orbit Racing is the only source for dive planes that fit the 997.1.
I got one of the sets from the first production run...they are very nice quality, fit perfectly, and Orbit could not have been better for taking my order and shipping quickly.
I installed them in time for two days at the full (4.2 miles, 24-turn) Miller Motorsports track in July, with top speed of about 150 mph...no issues at all, but hard to tell how much more downforce is actually created...maybe a really good driver could better quantify performance improvement. For those of you considering them primarily for "the look", they really make a statement ... I get constant questions about them, even from people who don't know anything about the car.

The dive planes come with 3M tape, but I screwed them on just to make sure...drilled holes in the mounting surface of the dive planes, marked the mounting spots on the car, removed the front bumper, cut 3/16" thick aluminum into 1-2" suares for 10-24 X 5/8" stainless machine screws. Drilled and tapped those aluminum squares, then used 3M tape to mount them to the back side of the bumper, bolted the dive planes on, and reinstalled the bumper.
Also used that as an opportunity to clean debris from in front of all the radiators and in the front wheel wells (lots of tire debris and small gravel gets deposited right in front of the front wheel well covers).
A bit stressful to drill holes in the bumper, but if I ever want to simply remove the dive planes (I did NOT use the 3M tape to attach the dive planes, just the screws), then I can just put the stainless (or painted) screws back in the holes (that is why I 3M-taped the aluminum backing plates to the back side of the bumper) so that only the screw heads then show.
