stepping up to a 997

I'm in the market for either a 997.2 turbo or a 997.1 gt3RS. Both will be driven on the street as a weekend car and both will be tracked. Can you guys help and tell me which one might be better? Pros and Cons? Anything that might help. I really appreciate it. Thank you.

I just went up from a C2 2006 track mods to a 997.2 gt3rs and what a hugh difference. The power and handling are light years ahead of what I had. But I feel I have to let you know that the GT3's are raw and louder inside, and the gt3 seats need getting use to. I love it so I am ok with it. You need to ask yourself can you. My Friend with a 997.1 turbo said " his car is like a luxury car compared to the GT3 rs". If you like to track your car GT3 is the way to go.

if you are frequently tracking more than 10 events/year, get the 3

+1 ... Also look into a Regular 2010 + GT3 non RS, great car for the $$$

Watch the videos and what the car can do.

I agree with the others - turbo is nicer to live with as a street car, quieter inside and more luxurious. But if you enjoy hitting the curvy backroads and tracking the car - GT3 will be a car you will never be unhappy with.

A 2010 GT3 is probably the best all around Porsche, with track use in mind you can buy.
Nice on the streets, and really close to RS performance in some tracks.
GT3 is for sure the best I ever had, and I had GT2, Turbo 993, GTR, Gallardo, etc.

While I haven't driven the RS, the GT3 is one of my favorite track cars ever. I think the Turbo will net more fun for the weekends you don't track (maybe even more drivable, due to the AWD and the comfort of the seats/suspension).

+1 on the recommendations of tracking more = GT3RS. It depends on your priorities. These cars are hard to compare similarly, simply because the difference in purpose is too vast.

I like the GT3 for the street better than the turbo (no question about which car would be better at the track). Nothing compares to the raw energy of a GT3 and the handling is so much better. I find turbos have blazing speed, but are soft compared to the GT3. The GT3 feels a lot more alive and gives me the rush I am after.
