Suncoast Has Rotor Upgrades
I'm a little confused on the pricing...
It's $1900 for 2 complete non-floating rotors. Replacement rotors are $170 (x2 = $340). Upgraded fasteners are $125.
So, that means the hats cost $1,435 per set (1900 less 340 & 125)? (And that assumes that the Grade 8 fasteners are $125.)
Help me out here. Maybe I'm missing something.
Also, what type of maintenance is required for these?

that approches PCCB pricing if you go all four.
DEVEK has a GT3 full steel track replacement set all four for 2800 I think. thats everything.
But obviously we're missing something

Are the hats 7071? or 6061?

To effectively answer your question on maintenance, i will quote the engineers involved...
"Maintenance falls into two categories for a car raced or tracked heavily:
(1) As with the OE rotor, the driver and crew should constantly check for cracks developing on the rotor face. This is not something unique to a two piece rotor but is a wear factor present with any heavily used rotor. When a car is tracked or raced, rotors are considered "consumable items" in the same category as race pads.
' (2) Whenever replacing brake pads, check the tightness of all fasteners. A simple tug with a socket wrench will insure the bolts haven't loosened.
' (3) At the time of replacing a rotor ring, close inspection of the fasteners is required. Replace any that appear questionable. There are 12 fasteners per rotor. Replacement bolts are inexpensive."

I just recieved a phone call from a gentleman with questions regarding fitment and pricing on these rotors. The only probelm rest with his concern if they would fit a 'Honda civic'...
He claimed these were available for his vehicle for $300 a pop. Needless to say, he hung up after hearing a quote.
My point to this story (very true story...we are still laughing here) is that we are the selective minority. We own, drive, and breathe Porsche. Performance copmes second nature to these vehicles. Truthfully, yes sometimes there is a price to play. However, this does not mean for any and every driving enthusiast to go out and purchase a ceramic brake kit. Simply, this kit works as a great replacement set or even a race set for those daring days. This kit has proven to be very versatile, street or strip.
I like the questions and encourage more.

Thanks for the info, but I still don't get the pricing structure. Put simply, either the initial cost is too high or the replacement stuff is too cheap (and I'd be leery to buy if I thought the replacement parts were mispriced).
*Std alum hat made of 6061 T6 Alum. Upgrade to 7075 available. The 7075 is a harder Alum material. Extra cost. 7075 will be used if specified only. $120 a pair.
*Note*
Upon replacement of rotor, it is advisable for the user to have the hat machined flat. Any competent machine shop can do this. As the heat cycles of the rotor and hat assembly build there is a slight runout developed in the hat. This should be eliminated when mounting new rotors.

By all means,
Brembo has very nice equipement. I'm sure they have nothing custom involved with their rotors or hats. The price seems very reasonable for those once a month enthusiasts who endure the money and the power to advertise the Brembo Logo.
However, with "no 'CUSTOM' anything", how many applications can be available. I'm sure they have it per year, and per size. Yet, what about the true track enthusiast who requires a bit more precision from their brakes. The ability to have rotors and hats "CUSTOM" made should be seen as a Privilege. A fair and reasonable price to have custom made to your specifications for track, street, or strip. Brembo would seem to be the obvious choice for a quick upgrade, but the ability to create a brake kit a spec seems to be a much better deal.
