I just talked to my Porsche dealership late this afternoon. The sales manager said his Porsche rep had called him today telling him that he would be emailing him the dealers GT-3 allocations tonight. I expect a call tomorrow from the dealer, and assuming I can get a car, place an order for what I consider to be a very exciting car.

 

I hate to confess ignorance, but I'm curious: do only certain dealers get to place GT3 orders and are they further limited as to how many they can submit?

 

Most dealers get cars. The big issue is how many and when. Yesterday Porsche gave out there allocations for the US market. Based on reports trickling in not many cars are being allocated. Most of us have to wait until next year for a build date. In my case, I was told my build date will be second quarter 2014 but which month is still unknown. I have been on the dealer list since early this year.MY dealer a Premiere Porsche dealer, got a total of 9 cars for this and next year.
