If car suffers mechanical failure at the track, is it owners responsibility to notify dealer of circumstances? What if dealer says its ok, should owner then call pcna and tell them car was on track when failure occurred? I mean really.....

Would the dealer know if you tracked the car if you had a break down and just took the car back home and told the dealer you had a breakdown on the road somewhere near your home?
1 look at the tires and brakes anyone with any car knowledge can tell it's been on the track. Plus 1 look at the cars computer that shows rpm's and speed can tell.

Porsche markets the car as a track, toy but puts in writing in the owners manual that warranty is void if used on a race track.

Again I remind you all the cars warranty IS NOT with the Porsche dealer...the warranty is with Porsche Cars North America! Porsche doesn't own the dealerships and the dealerships have no official word on warranty.

I had radiator breakdown on track and dealer fixed under warrantee, no questions asked. factory rep does not get involved in every repair. Would be different situation if ie. missed shift and blew up motor, but that would void warrantee if track or street. To the op, get gt3 with warrantee and dont worry (too much) about it

JamesGT3RS is infamous around these parts
In the UK we were told "that's what they're made for" by Porsche GB. Only issue and one that heasn't yet been resolved by Porsche Germany is exactly what is required to maintain the integrity of the centre lock system. Worth asking your Porsche Centre.
