You are right, and I said I was not sure but I should have remembered that video. Oh well that's what I get for trying to rationalize this engine issue.

I'm sure they'll find a fix soon, Im just excited and can't wait for mine, I bet its something simple like an oil fitting or line.

I read on other sites that the oil line is made of plastic which IS next to hot exhaust. Oh another thing...the oil pump is hanging on the bottom of the case.
I can only imagine what would happen if one runs over debris on the public roads and end up needing a motor due to lack of oil.

996 coolant lines revisited via the financial team getting involved vs the engineering team running the whole program.

consider identifying the problem, inspecting all the cars to see which ones maybe affected, figuring out if there is a faulty part, what batch of parts from a supplier it was in. Then devising a fix, testing it and devising a plan to retrofit produced vehicles and motors, may take a few weeks

991 GT3's come fitted with an alloy under tray covering the whole engine area which gives protection similar to a sump guard although its there for aero reasons. Our 997 lumps have parts that could be just as easily damaged - sump/crank case, water ways etc...

Will become a distant memory once they resolve and the great GT3 dynamics shin through. Look at other marques, thay have very similar teething issues but if the package is right, they are still great cars and held in high regard and demand... 458 etc

I was thinking this was taking longer than I thought too. Maybe we will know what's going on by the end of the month? Lots of turbos are being sold in the meanwhile. I wonder if that is a good thing or not? Hennessy here in Atlanta has two for sale but would you buy them knowing you could not drive them?

I am considering a TTS as a plan B if the situation worsens, though I stay candid that all will be resolved soon. Is anyone else considering other cars as an alternative?

There are lots of alternates. I own a 991 Turbo. A great car. I was going to own both for awhile. My 991 C2S was a great car too. F430, used Gallardo. Used McClaren. 2012 Turbo S. 2011 or older GT3. And on and on.

Have you tracked your turbo? I plan on 3-5 track days per year. I know it's not a lot but I'm looking for first hand feed back on this, with no luck by search.
