991 gt3 premiums..
991 gt3 premiums..
I definitely have the bug for the new gt3 and did some research today to find that there are a couple of them out there and the dealers are still asking between 10-20k over msrp, not to mention they all require new motors before release. I understand these cars are in high demand but Porsche blew it for the dealers who were about to cash in on the premiums…right? Or are people still willing to pay that premium regardless? IMO, I would expect those cars awaiting new motor to be sold at a discount. Please share your thoughts..
At this point your much better off calling around for a 2015 allocation(they r out there)and building how you want with all the kinks worked out. I know that requires some waiting but that's exactly what current owners are doing right now.
yep.
+1 agreed

Geez, give it a rest! Premiums have been charged before for plenty of cars with issues like fire (Ferrari), Wheels falling apart on track (Gt3 997), exploding coolant lines (Gt3 996 & 997), IMS failures .......
Seems like everyone is on the bash bandwagon for the 991 GT 3 with a current confirmed failure rate of .25%.

You do know there are multiple Corrados that spontaneously combusted, correct?
This discussion on premiums is completely pointless! Premiums WILL be charged by sellers (dealers and individuals alike) and premiums WILL be paid by buyers with adequate funds to do so AS LONG AS A CAR - or any item for that matter - HAS DEMAND EXCEEDING SUPPLY during a specific time period! I have seen it in Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches and even in Toyota Priuses (in 2010 and 11)!!! This is Economics 101 and has nothing to do with cars let alone a particular brand or model! Case in point, limited edition wrist watches!
True indeed with those items and watches but here there is a unique twist. The product in demand was flawed and some dealerships will have previously driven cars without owners. The demand for 15' MY cars will be high but the takers for the first 785 w/engine swaps may drive prices slightly lower than it was prior to the recall. Would I take one....yeah with a nice price reduction. What 135-45k?
