So Excited!!!

I have had several nice cars over the years. I got my second sports car when Honda came out with the S2000. My wife liked this car as it was inexpensive and she could drive it and liked it for some reason.

Decided to get a DB9 when they came out. Wife loved this car however I was suspicious as first drive seemed to be lacking the nimbleness of a true sport car. I know, its a GT. Purchase due another test drive though some hills where I found I could make her dance. Quality issues, nothing major but many nick picking things drove me nuts. Handling kit that came out later was great improvement but I somehow longed for more.

In short I went to Porsche dealer with the idea of a 911 turbo and a Boxster RS 60 with PCCBs caught my eye. Wife agreed reluctantly and still has issues with me giving up the DB9. I loved this car and drove for a couple of years but longed for the 911. I have driven most every model over the years was thinking of 911S, but wife issues had delayed this for a couple of years. I sold the RS so wife thinks I can't be happy with anything at this point. Not without toys but the longing never left.

So within the last couple of months started looking at a 911 but to spec the way I like would bring price to 160K. I want a normally aspirated so when the GTS showed up looked like the rite car. I research and lot and started thinking; looking at 156 or so again and thinking of the deprecation had me hesitating.

I had driven GT3s in the past but felt a little to harsh and the wife would not enjoy it; but the car is for me and thinking of satisfying her with my car does not work. Bought her a new Range Rover Supercharged this year and she is really happy with it so discussion have led me to go ahead and get what I want. Told her she does not have to dive it. (We will see as she is a good driver).

Thinking of the dollars I decided to get the 2015 and happen to find one spec close to the way I would want it. I was thinking white but pictures of the Red has always intrigued me. I am not the LOOK AT ME kind of a person and sometimes feel out of place when someone complements me on my cars and Red is a look at me color. After much thought, put deposit on a Arrest Me RED GT3 with most of the bells. Thinking of wearing big sunglasses and large droopy hat when I drive it. My First Red Car......

The 991 GT3 is like no other 911, not even its predecessor. If you've driven the 997 GT3 you're in for a very pleasant surprise. The 991 GT3 is incredibly road compliant and dare I say it "comfortable" when needed and an absolute screaming banshee when the beans are applied! My wife really disliked riding in the 997.2 GT3 I had. The opposite is true with the 991 GT3!

You are going to love the car. Congratulations!
What are the specs and when is delivery?

I'll second Haku on the wife not liking my 997.2 GT3. Took her less than 10 minutes declare the seats and ride were both terrible. Never got back into it after that.

If you have a pulse you will enjoy your new car.

It could be on the Bess. One other members car made it to Emden after mine and his is on the Bess. If it's not on the Bess there's another ship out in a few days.

My sales rep said the car is still scheduled to be at the dealer on Dec. 5. Glad it's not today as we have 5" of snow on the ground. Having spent a lot of time in Buffalo and Montreal I'm not complaining about a 5" 'dusting'.

Thats cold up there. Having stated that, we're freezing our buns off down here as well. Had a teeny snow flurry this morning! I WANT SUMMER!

Just get that wonderful car of yours over the pond and safely into your garage. In the meantime I suggest practicing your vocal VROOOM VROOMS!

I got the car sideways on Saturday! All I can say is that the car is epic and remained entirely composed even when being driven by a halfwit like myself! A quick flick and correction and the car was exactly where I wanted it to be. No drama, no Stay on the gas and VROOOM!...

You are going to love this car!
