997.1 GT3 100,000km 70k. Is it a good buy?
Hi guys,
I am new to this and looking to purchse my first Porsche and I found 2007 GT3 with a 100,000 km for $70k CDN or $53 US. The dealer does not have any service records. Also on the car report there is note that damage was done to front end 19k few years back. I am having a licensed Porsche dealer inspect it prior to final sale.
Please give me your thoughts
Thanks

DEXSKI, I would avoid this car if it is your first Porsche. The car sounds like a potential nightmare. Things can get expensive quick. From the information you are telling us it has 62xxx miles, no service history and has had 19k worth of front end damage. It is never a good idea to look for the cheapest example. There is a reason why its priced so low. I would look for a clean 07-09 c2s/c4s with one or two owners, low miles and a known service history.
If you try and sell it the next owner will have all the same questions you have now. If you are really hell bent on a 997.1 GT3 pay the money for a clean car.

Well, the only way I would purchase a car with that history is if I was only looking for a track car. Something that I wouldn't bother titling at all. You're going to replace most of the parts in the car anyway right?
But if you're looking to buy a street car, I wouldn't buy one with $20 worth of front end damage.

This is all great info I am receiving. The way I see it, you can buy a 07, 997 TT for $70k, with 50k miles on it. Why not opt out the GT3 for this price. $20,000 damage on a Porsche front end has to just be a bumper and miscellaneous items.
I plan on driving this car as a weekend warrior 5k a year.
