Unhappy GT Crash

Another wrecked GT. A woman wo borrowed the car from another guest who stayed in the same hotel, crashed into a bunch of trees after covering only 1 km. She was severely injured but her passenger suffered only minor injuries. The crash split the car in two.

You know, I just thought of the sense of irony porsche must feel when seeing these pictures. In the hands of incompetent drivers, their product kills - luckily, not in this case. Must be kinda hard considering you built it with such a greater intention.

Ummmmmm, couldn't you say that about every type of transportation manufacturer? People can be incompetent with ANYTHING, if someone falls off a ladder and dies should the ladder company feel bad because there product enabled that person to climb 10 feet in the air?! No...same with Porsche in this instance.

This topic comes up often when pictures like this are posted and I find it ridiculous. Does individual responsability mean nothing!?

I was waiting for someone to mention it They remind me of Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd in 'Spies Like Us' when they pretend to be aliens to scare off the commies...love that movie!

Seems like CF body tends to break in 1/2. I wonder if future CF cars will have re-enforced alum at mid sections. F1 cars disintegrate on purpose to keep the engine and axle out. I doubt cutting the car in 1/2 is the way the car is suppose to behave in a crash though.

Any estimate how fast the car was going?

Evidently there was another crash near/in Dana Point. I saw pics of some of the broken parts on another forum.

So she borrow the car from a friend, takes another friend out in the car, proceeds to drive at excessive speeds for the road and conditions, and has a flat bed truck remove the remains of the car.
This is exactly why no one drives my car except me.
The actual impact of the accident took but a millisecond; the reprocussion will take a lifetime.
