For the past two mornings I have noticed a rattling noise when I start my car The noise lasts about a minute and then quiets down when the RPMs drop after start-up. I'll take the car in this week and have P listen to it. The rattling doesn't seem RPM dependent, but sorta irregular. I've also noticed the engine noise in general is louder than any other Porsche I've ever owned. Maybe I'm being paranoid or do other GT3s rattle at start-up.

 

yep Doc don't worry too much. my does it & all the GT3s we work on do the same. it happens if the car is not daily driven.

love the cold start sound on the GT3. RAW!

Yeah it's normal.
I love the initial RAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWwwwweeerrrr blast right at startup. It's just warming up..
Get used to new knocks, rattles, whizzess, pings and clunks.
It's a race car in disguise.

 

At my age I too rattle, wheez, burp, cough and fart upon start up...but my baby souldn't do it...shes too young. Did I tell you about one of my ex wives...naw too gross for this board.
