Mark Siefert where are you?
I live in Phoenix and can tell you with no uncertainty they ask for all the money and then some. Phoenix is physically larger than LA and is the 6th largest city in the US and has only one authorized P-car store, you can do the math from here.

Hmm, that is one of Penskes joints. The one guy who might actually have some leverage with Porsche? Being that Penske racing does the Porsche RS Spyder and UAG, (Penskes is a majority owner and is CEO) owns 5 Porsche delaerships in the USA, two in Scotland and two in the UK.

Downtown L.A. Porsche asked for 2,500.00 but I baulked a bit and told him that Pacific had asked for only 1,000.00 and he said that would be fine but that when he recieved the request to spec out the car that I would need to increase the deposit to 4,000.00. I was O.K. with that. The deposits are all refundable and both Pacific porsche and Downtown Porsche agreed on the deposit receipt that the car would be sold for MSRP or less. Phoenix would not agree to any price restriction, they said market conditions.

Dave
who helped you Downtown ? Pete ? Roger ?

Legend has a policy of selling cars above MSRP ( and blaming it on the dumb customer) I'd run a mile from these guys, they're looking for suckers here!

See their post about the 997 turbo, launch car available over sticker.

There are plenty of people out to screw you, we don't need it from sponsors.

Relax, every allocation is going to be sold for MSRP. Stop extrapolating on a small post about one unique car.

When you sell any cars, period, over sticker, it's not a Dealership to be trusted or one where I would ever do business .

There are just too many good Porsche dealers out there to bother with the riff-raff.

Or is only the special Customers that get ripped off? If it's your policy tosell one car over sticker, then it's your policy to sell them all over sticker.....if you can. Go find the "suckers" somewhere else.

Chris, I am getting close. I am having problems deciding over a 996 or 997 GT3. I have seen some sweet used 996's, but a new 997 would be my first "new" car, so it would be an excellent car to buy new. (I am my fathers son, the worlds greatest advocate of used cars...)

I don't want the car until next years season, so I have a little time. Dealer said the order needs to be in by nov/dec for a april/may 07' delivery.

As long as you are aware that a GT3 ain't gonna be no daily driver in the nyc area. Least not a very good one. What about a new 997C2S, nice DD, nearly as fast as a 996GT3 on the 'ring, maybe faster with the x51. Also, if you're gonna use it for work, why not lease it and write it off.
