CGT clutch replacment

I'm looking into possibly getting a CGT.
I wanted to know about the cost for a clutch replacment and other important service costs.

If I'm not mistaken those monster clutches are designed to be bulletproof. They don't last forever, but darn near it....

I saw a Fayence Yellow one at my dealer with relatively low miles in for a clutch change. I beleive it was around $16k.

Clutches are around 20k when said and done. Howerver I have11k miles on my car with most being pretty aggressive and have had no issues. I have seen a few guys who can't drive burn them up (almost impossible) and Porsche has replaced them once at no cost. Cost of up keep is not bad. Get one.

Any idea on the cost of the valve adjustment scheduled for 20,000 miles?

BTW did you take delivery on your 430 Spider?

Dealer told me that a CGT owner burned up his clutch in 5k miles. Replacement cost was $20k.

I agree with Matt that if you know how to drive it, it should last a long time.

How much for oil change? It's pretty steep due to time to get up on lift, lots of fasteners to remove, etc.

There was one at the dealer last week, parts alone 8k, plus labor. When I saw it the had the motor dropped down, the rear fascia off, and three techs struggling through a german manual. They ended up flying in a tech from Germany, this is a major porsche motorsports dealer as well.
Nothing on that car is easy!

Thats what scares me abou thte car. i believe that you have to pay to play but these costs will effect the resale value of the cars specially when the warrenty is up. I dont want a car that will tank in value that dramaticly.

Its not an investment but i dont want it to be a huge money loser too

I believe it already has. The price should stabilize until these cars get some miles on them and then you can look for another round of hefty depreciation. Certainly a great performance car but only for those who view $500,000 play money.

I don't understand how people justify buying a car that you have to worry about mileage and dep.. You have no business playing with $500,000 cars if you have to take into account a clutch or vavle job costs. A ferrari have large maintainace costs as do Lamborghini, Zonda, Saleen and any other car at that level. The CGT is by far the best build and most reliable of any of the super cars you can buy. I really laugh at the ferrari drive when the guys ask how many miles there going to drive like they need to see if they can budget that into there monthly allowance. Buy the cars and drive them. Buy a cheaper car your going to get in and drive because you love it rather than buy a car you are worried about maintaining because you can't really afford it. DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE thats what Porsche is about!!!!!!!!

Clutch - $roughly 20k.-
Oil and filter service $750.00 approx - Done several of them........Its a pain in the **** - Not to mention the cost of the fixtures you need to have in order to safely lift the car.....

As most guys have mentioned who own the cars. They are very reliable and pretty easy to live with day in and day out..
Buying a car ,specualting on whether or not it will appreciate is a waste ..
Buy a house in Orange County if you want to speculate and make money...

These cars are dreams for many... It is those who have the oppurtunity to own them who are the care takers of those dreams...Dont let them go to waste sitting in a garage...........

Just my 02..

CGT clutch job coming in next week... Will keep you posted... Its a timely process.

I don't know why not wanted to lose 100k in one year is a sin.
No one is trying to make $ but making bad decisions is a different story

I think its not being wreckless and that's just smart.

Bro its a car. Not a business decision. I wouldn't say I make wreckless decisions or I wouldn't be able to pay for it .Somethings make money somethings cost money. Knowing is half the battle. You buy a car that you car afford to loss money on because you want to enjoy it. Some cars lose less than others but you buy them for fun. You only live once. If your blessed to own one than your probably not worried about lose of cash.DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
