Hans Stuck @ Nurburging

A friend sent me this link with Hans Stuck at Nurburgring and he is just flying! The thing that is strange is he blows by at least one GT3 that I can see and a number of other Porsche's, how can that be? It looks more like they are letting him go by rather than trying to give him a run, any thoughts?

Because Hans Stuck is driving. A car is only as good as the person driving it, and Stuck is a living legend.
The M3 GTR is no less capable than the GT3 with the proper driver.

also keep in mind the GTR weighs 2976 lbs and also has a big honkin' V8 in it. And basically a full race suspension.

Was he on street tires or R compound?

I think it'd be safe to say that the GTR is infact quicker then the GT3

Awseome, simply awesome!

After putting in thousands of laps on GPL and GP3 (computer racing sims), it's just fabulous to be able to 'relate' to where he is on the track and know the corners as he takes them. Even so, I can't help but feel fear as my own self preservation instincts kick in as I watch the in-car footage. Simply amazing.

Most of the cars in the first part of the vid are inferior, plus they looked like there were on outlaps. As for out on the 'old' N/B, well that's just 'ol Hans baby!

I had the honour of meeting Hans Stuck during the Bahrain F1 and had a long conversation with him. One of the most down to earth, talented drivers that I've ever met.

The shifting is what does it for me. Amazing. Would've liked to have seen his footwork.

This is a video floating around for a long time what a master he is and the M3 GTR is a ****in beast of a car but with him behind the wheel there is no normal driver that could even match his skills

It must be hard giving birth to someone wearing racing shoes and clutching a steering wheel!

Hans Stuck is one of the recognized 'Ringmeisters... along with Porsche's own Walter Rohrl, Nissan racing driver Dirk Schoysman (spelling?) and Sport Auto editor Horst Von Saurma.

as for the M3 GTR, it is partly carbon fiber, weighs 2,750 pounds, is powered by a 500HP 4-liter V8, and is a full on racecar that was so utterly dominant in its maiden season (won 7 out of 8 races,) the rules were changed to neuter its advantage.

bottom-line: legendary driver + crushingly effective racecar = get the f*ck outta my way!!!
