Greetings from my GT3
Greetings from my GT3
Hi everybody, I’m a long time lurker here and thought it was about time to introduce myself and more importantly the car.
It’s a 2004 GT3, black on black. I’ve had the car almost 2 years and love every mile driven in it. Lightly optioned with Xenons, lowered seats and alum gauges. Mods include clear side markers, GT3 seats, 5 point harnesses, sport pedals and a GMG roll bar. The seats, bar and harness were installed by the good folks over at GMG and they did a fantastic job.
I use the car as a daily driver a few days a week, but of course where it shines is on the track!
I simply can’t express how much fun this car is to drive on the track. Last year I started going through the POC short track program and am starting their time trial series next weekend.
This is my third Porsche, the first two being a 1987 Carrera and a 1997 C4S. Loved both of those cars but I must admit I began to find the C4S a little smooth for me. So I went and drove the 996 TT and the GT3 back to back and there was no question. I had to have the GT3.
So “hello”, I am looking forward to being an active participant around here.
Of course, some pictures are attached. At the Streets of Willow, at GMG getting goodies installed and next to a 959 at Crystal Cove.
Regards,
Jon

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Tony - I'm next door in Tustin Ranch, but it must have been another black 3. I've not had it around Quail Hill. Sounds like we have enough local cars for a black GT3 posse.
Chuck - I agree the POC has an amazing program. Highly recommended for anyone in SoCal. Fabryce and crew have been fantastic. I'll be over there Wed. for another harness and fire extinguisher install.

Myself and Oldguy both came out of 993s, me out of a 96 C4S and him out of a TT. I think that helped with the learning curve on the GT3, I was never a fan of the 996 platform, but this car is just RIGHT!! Welcome its a great board
Welcome, I too am new to this board and have enjoyed for the last 6 months through the recommendation of another member. What can I say, black cars are hot! Your GT3 is exceptionally hot!
