ONLY $15,000 over STICKER!!!!!

Dealer called today and said even though we have your order for 18 months we NEED 15,000 over MSRP for your GT3. Dealer has changed hands and all my previous dealings were a hand shake. Now the new owner has 'lost' my deal!! Does PCNA care? Any Porsche dealer want to sell a gt3 at MSRP. I was even going to trade in a perfect 9000 mile GT3 in rare color and options.

That sucks!!!

I don't think PCNA can do something unless you have something with dealer's signature on it.

If you want call Emily Santiago @ The Collection (Coral Gables, FL) at (305)7965436 she's sales manager and maybe she can do something for you. Tell her Federico gave you her number. She's a really nice woman.

Walters Porsche did the same thing to me on a GT2 when they came out. I had a deposit for the #2 spot for 2 years, then one day I get a letter from them with a check stating they are not able to honor my deposit and included a check for my deposit. I called the GM and was told we have ordered a silver car and it will be coming in in several months and I could buy that one at $25K over MSRP. I told him we had an agreement at MSRP and he said they were not legally bound to honor it (which they weren't) and they would let me know when the car came in. I told him I had no interest at over MSRP and wanted to order what I wanted.

Turns out they did me a huge favor as 18 months later I bought a used 2003 with 400 miles for $70,000 off MSRP! Funny how things work out sometimes.

Right now you may be mad and dissapointed, but in the long run it's the Dealer that has lost, not only your business but everyone elses that chooses not to deal with a Dealership that doesn't honor a verbal contract. You are a winner, let us know if you want us to research for you. I'm in California and I can make some calls for you if distance isn't an issue. Regards, Kenny

what dealership was this? I think if they're going to conduct business in this manner, you should name them. The use of the internet is a very powerful tool. Reputation and word of mouth travel very fast in this day and age.

15K over sticker for a 997GT3..LOL. Keep your 996 variant. In the end, it will be judged as the better car...

Hold out and enjoy your 996 version for a little while longer - just like every other P car the price will go way down

Agreed! The GT3 like the Turbo and GT2 will sustain a rather significant reduction in value (off MSRP) within 6mos-to a year.

You should call PNA and tell him what the dealer did to you. Porsche like many other car manufacturers has a strict policy regarding MSRP. The dealer will loss allocations if it is confirmed they sold over MSRP.

Believe it or not it is VERY common here in Ca. Went into a BMW dealer the other day and they are still asking 15K over for an M5. They even put it the window sticker as dealer markup

i agree with pretty much everyone else!
the gt3 supply will be plentiful.
the dealer should take msrp and be happy!
if not, go elsewhere! you will be able to find one at msrp!
the "rs" however will be much harder to come by!

best
jeff
